If you don't know the context, "dead" means very little activity or posts :-/ And yes, technically the Garage is the worst, but that is such a narrow field that there should be no doubt that it's dead, but a computers forum? I'd expect this place to be buzzing with activity :-l

A lot of people take technology for granted so I'm not surprised. More people need to learn to see a computer as a tool and not a comfort zone - probably because of all the Mac users...

Possibly, yeah. That is the way my parents taught me to use a computer, and to this day I use my conputer for stuff like Universe Dandbox and Space Engine, where it could be considered a game, but you also get something out of it, whether a good experience, or you learn something...

I used to think of computers like that when I first used one when I was about 5, and I used to find Paint really fun xD
I think it changed when I used the internet properly on my own -
With a bit of code most boring stuff can be automated, of more knew this people would be flocking to tech sites more >.>
