PLEASE HELP. My Windows XP is taking forever to log off?

Thread Topic: PLEASE HELP. My Windows XP is taking forever to log off?

  It's been an hour and it's still stuck on the blue "Logging off..." screen. I'm scared if it stays like that for the whole night, it's gonna heat up and start a fire or something. IDK what to do. Did I break it? It's not installing/updating anything, all it says is "Logging off..."
  AHHHHHHSKDHFKSJDHFS. What do I do?! D:

  It would be nice if someone would help.
  My dad's asleep and I don't want to wake him since he has to get up for work at 3AM tomorrow.
  Also, it's about time I go to sleep and the COMPUTER STILL HASN'T LOGGED OFF/SHUT DOWN! Plus the weird buzzing noises the monitor's making is really pissing me off :L

  There was recently a trojan that causwd this, pull the battery and plug out of your computer to make it crash. Then reboot. The trojan went under the name of System32 so search for that file and delete it when found.

  Kinda late reply but try unplugging it/shutting it down perhaps?
