You're now chatting with a random stranger. Say hi!
You and the stranger both like Hetalia.
Stranger: Lovino tossed his bag down next to the first empty desk he saw, making a show of how unhappy he was to be there. "I didn't even know Alfred was copying my f---ing test." The boy grumbled quietly to himself. Just because the American is Mr. Kirkland's favorite Lovino was the one who got landed in detention. What bulls--- that was, he thought, taking a seat in the nearly empty room. It looked like he'd be alone in detention today or, alone with Mr. Carriedo. He sneered at the thought of spending an hour with Mr. Overly-happy-for-a-teacher's-salery-but-I-still-manage-to-make-you-fantasize-about-me-during-class. Che palle, this was going to be the longest hour of his life
You: Mr. Carriedo was at his desk, working on some papers, and looked up as the Italian came him. "Hola, Romano. I think you're the only one for detention here today, si?" He smiled and stood up, leaning against his desk and crossing his arms. "So what happened?"
You: *came in
Stranger: "Mr. Kirkland, that's what happened." He muttered darkly. "It wasn't my fault- I don't know why you'd believe me, but hell, it wasn't!" He demanded.
You: "Was the American boy involved in this?" He asked curiously. "Then I'd find it very easy to believe you. Arthur does show a lot of favoritism to him."
Stranger: "Yes-!" Lovino agreed too quickly, and way too enthusiastically. He leaned back, realizing his mistake with a slight blush. "I- uh. I mean, si. Alfred /was/ at fault for this, the jerk."
You: Antonio smiled warmly. "I see. Well, even though I don't think you deserve to be here, I can't just let you go. So if you have any homework or anything to do you can get that done. Or if you'd like we can still talk."
Stranger: Lovino glanced at his backpack. He didn't have any homework due, seeing as the new term just started. "Uh, I don't really have work with me." He said a little awkwardly, not sure what he'd talk about with the teacher for an hour.
You: "Ah, okay. I don't have much either myself." His smile and chuckle were cheerful, not aware of any awkward mood. "So, Lovino, what do you like to do? I mean I don't really see you taking part in many school activities."
Stranger: Lovino thought for a moment. The question caught him slightly off guard, and to make matters worse, he suddenly forget who he was under the pressure. "I..." He said lamely, before remembering at least something. "I like to read? And garden I guess, or well used to, I mean." He said, almost thinking out loud.
You: "I love to garden as well." Antonio smiled, turn to his computer. "I do a lot of vegetables and different things, it's really a nice way to get away from everything." He brought up a few pics of his garden, which was impressively done and seemed professional.
Stranger: "I used to, I guess until my Grandfather said it was a girls hobby." He muttered the last part, looking a little saddened by the topic.
You: He noticed the other's saddened feeling and shook his head. "That's not true. Anyone can enjoy gardening! Not just girls. It takes a lot of work and care, but is still very fun." He smiled softly. "So you shouldn't let something like that stop you."
Stranger: "No offense sir, but you've never met my Nonno. He's very... persistent" Lovino trailed off, shrugging as if this was a normal situation in every family. "It's not a big deal anyways. I still read, a lot actually."
You: "Hm, well that's good too, si. What kind of books do you like to read?" His cheerful nature came back quickly, wondering if he knew some of the literature the younger would say.
Stranger: "Classics mostly. Catcher in Rye is my favorite. Er, not to like a super nerd or something stupid like that." He said, again feeling the conversation getting a little personal. He doubted the teacher even cared about any of this, probably just another bother keeping him from going home. "But, whatever." He said, closing himself up again.
You: "Ah, that's really good. I don't think it's nerdy at all." Antonio nodded happily. "Well, Lovino, I think you're a really nice kid. Just be true to yourself, and don't let others put you down." He did really care about the other, but was afraid also to scare him off. He reminded himself of his position as teacher and sat down at his desk again.
Stranger: "So, uh." He thought of something he really wanted to ask. "Do you actually like being a teacher?"
You: He thought for a moment, and chuckled lightly. "Eh, it's not bad job. Pays the bills. Though..." He paused and looked up, deciding to be honest and personal. "I've always have want to be a musician. I play guitar and write music, and really enjoy it, but of course it isn't an easy industry to get into."
Stranger: "Really?" Now Lovino found that interesting. He sat back in his chair, feeling more comfortable with the conversation off him, "You should go for it."
You: Antonio smiled, giving a soft nod. "Si, it would be a dream come true. Sometimes it's hard to find the time but in the summer season I play at a lot more venues and put on shows." His expression brightened, remembering he had a guitar in the room. "Would you like to hear me play?"
Stranger: "Right now? Sure I'd l-" He corrected himself, almost saying 'love' instead of 'like'. "Uh, why not, I mean. You got it with you?"
You: "Si." He went to the storage closet and pulled out the instrument. He brought his chair forward a bit and sat down, making sure everything was tuned properly. With a genuine smile, he started to play a soft Spanish-sounding melody. When it came time for the lyrics, he sang them softly, not trying to make too much noise that would distract other classrooms.
Stranger: Lovino couldn't fight a blush. Mr. Carriedo was good, and really good. His voice was soothing, but also kind of hot. He bit his lip, blushing harder at having actually thought that about a teacher! Dio! He covered one cheek with his hand and tried to focus on the light music playing, and not where his train of thought had been leading him.
You: Antonio could feel his own cheeks feel warmer, and his heart flutter. He had never shared his music with anyone else at the school before, and was glad that Lovino was the one to hear it. He continued, until the end had finally come. He looked up at the other with a smile. "Was it good?"
Stranger: "That was f---ing amazing-." Lovino stopped short, realizing he just cursed in front of a teacher, and not only that, he said /f---/ in front of a teacher. His eyes widened and he quickly apologized. "I didn't mean to say f---! I mean- no! It was, it was good! I uh..." he stemmed around, his nervousness painfully obvious.
You: He smiled and couldn't help but giggle at the other's reaction. "Relax, Lovino, and thank you. I'm glad you liked it." He went over and ruffled his hair a bit. He couldn't remember a time someone made him this happy, let alone a student.
Stranger: "But, really, sir. That was. That's the direction you should take your life in." He said, trying to give a more serious answer.
You: "Gracias, I'll be sure to remember if I do end up making it, my first fan." He chuckled, setting the guitar back into it's case safely.
Stranger: As soon as the teacher turned around Lovino felt himself blush red at his words. 'Remember' and 'first fan'. They probably didn't mean much to him, a little conversational curtsy, but still, Lovino felt a crush harboring, and that sort of talk only made him fall quicker.
You: Antonio put the instrument away and looked at the clock. "Hm, only about 15 minute left. It feels like it went by so quick." He looked over again and smiled, sitting back down. "Has this been the most interesting detention you've had?"
Stranger: "Mm, I guess the best? The most interesting would probably be a few weeks ago." He frowned thinking of it.
You: "Really? Would you mind if I asked what that was like?" He wondered curiously.
Stranger: Lovi -
Stranger: Lovino looked away, pulling the sleeves covering his wrists up higher. "I got hit in the face by some jerk." He muttered, looking out towards the window.
You: "Did he get caught?" Antonio felt more concerned now, almost in a protective sense.
Stranger: "Sort of. He got yelled at. No punishment." He lifted his chin up, pointing out a fated purple bruise at the bottom of his chin. "Hurt like hell though..."
You: "He should have been sent to the principal." He frowned, looking at the bruise worriedly. "If you have his name, I could report him."
Stranger: "I don't know him." Lovino let it slide. "Look, it's not really a big deal, I shouldn't of even mentioned it." He said, looking down at the desk as if it had suddenly become very interesting.
You: "Okay." Antonio let it drop since the younger didn't want to pursue it. He still felt a knot in his stomach over him getting hurt. "Though if it happens again, I want to know."
Stranger: "...Right." Lovino said again, still looking anxiously at his desk. "Like I said, it's not really a big deal..."
You: "Well it kind of is. Behavior that results in a student getting injured could lead to suspension." He added softly, and tried to think of a better subject to bring up. "Anyway, um... if you ever need help with homework or anything, I'd be more than happy to help."
Stranger: "I, sure. I'll do that." He glanced at the clocking, seeing the it hit 4:00, signaling he was free to go. He picked up bag, and stood up, stretching his legs and moving much slower than he had arriving to detention.
You: "Right. Well have a nice day, Lovino." He waved goodbye and smiled. He was disappointed to see him go but shook away those thoughts and got ready to leave as well.
Stranger: Lovino let the door behind him slowly close itself shut, having similar regrets about leaving. Still, he was eager to get home and- he glanced at his clock remembering the time. s---. He'd have to explain why he was late from school to his Grandfather. He was already on shaky ice with the man after recent discoveries that he'd rather not think about. He walked grudgingly to the exit, starting his ten minute walk home.
You: Antonio walked out to his car, noticing the other walking off the campus. He couldn't help but feel like going over and offering him a ride home, though he didn't want to seem weird. Teachers weren't supposed to do things like that, let alone feel how he was feeling now. He pulled out though the parking lot, and onto the main road to his place, not too far away.
Stranger: Ten minutes later, Lovino arrived home. He had thought up a good excuse, and hopefully he brother would help him with it. After all, if Feli agreed with him he was golden. Nonno would believe anything Feli said. 'The "straight" grandson
Stranger: *' he thought bitterly.
You: Antonio went into his house, which was quiet apart from the cat meowing 'hello'. He smiled and walked out to the garden, attending to the plants and making sure everything was fine and had enough water. His mind wandered off to what Lovino had said about his grandfather. "No offense sir, but you've never met my Nonno. He's very... persistent." It made him frown, remembering how he wasn't accepted when he was younger. His sexuality and interests made pretty much everyone hate him. -
