I absolutely hate it when people say that 'drawing anime/manga is so easy'.
NO IT IS NOT. Anime/Manga is one of the most difficult things I've ever drawn. Seriously, it takes me atleast 15 minutes to complete a picture and to edit it so it looks great.
And I've been drawing for about 3 or 4 years. I've improved to the extremes BUT I STILL SUCK. My god, my friend Amber looked at one of my Neko drawings and said, "That looks so easy to draw." -.-'
And I don't know how to change her opinion at all >:P That really irks me, and also when people ask if I can teach them. I can't teach anything worth a flip, because I get really impatient. .-. -
It depends on skill level and adaptability. Your friend is very ignorant from what I'm hearing.
Anime/manga requires the same foundations that realism does, it's just more simplified
It also requires a lot of practice. Just like everything else. Anime/manga isn't a difficult style, but it's not the easiest to learn.
