YES. FINALLY. Finally someone f---ing realized that other than me.
The poor man always had these mental battles with himself, screaming at himself to the point where he'd cry out of frustration or just plain regret. Sometimes just out of pure distress. He'd have nightmares where he'd taunt himself for being weaker than Goku. No, this isn't turning into a G/V rant, so don't tune out.
He made himself cry when there was meteor going to hit his 'home', by thinking that he couldn't save everyone. (I dunno where the hell Goku was during the time. ._. I think it was during them famous three years..) He pushed himself so far that he lost his grip and went Super Saiyan. Why? The taunting that drew him on, making him desperate.
During the period that he went Majin, he had the same fight, trying to make himself seem innocent and rid of the horrible thoughts that raided his mind, so he wouldn't be infected by the 'parasite'.
The truth is, though he admitted to Goku later that he let himself become infected because he wanted to become evil like he was before, and stronger, there was still a part of him that told him not to do it.
There are a whole bunch of moments that he fought with himself like that, too. But those two were the main moments.
So yeah, maybe the first fight he had with Goku was the best one. Maybe because of the way fate twisted them together and brought them close together, like brothers, even though they hated each other's guts at first, and wanted each other dead.
But his fight with himself was one that lasted through the whole series. :P
I dunno. The ways he had pushed himself to the extreme had always interested me and surprised me. The wicked ways his mind would manipulate him, trying to make him hide his true ways, the sensitive self that loves those that loves him.
It's always weird, how the bad guys aren't always as bad as they seem. :P
