That Wiki page doesn't list any made in America though, just Japanese anime that became popular in America.

You could probably include Avatar: the Last Airbender and Legend of Korra if you're desperate, though I'm not sure if it's anime or not.

I guess I can.

Anime is basically Japanese cartoons. So I guess I can squeeze in cartoons and anime together? Starting with Walt Disney since he was an inspiration to Japan?

Yeah, I think it would be as good idea to write about how anime has influenced American animation, because that broadens the kind of material you can use. Lots of modern cartoons are influenced by anime's style, even things like MLP and Disney animation.
