Arthur went pale and looked at the american. "Y-you're the new quarterback..?" He couldn't believe it- of all the freshman who he could have been paired up with, he had to be paired up with the one who came to replace him!

"Yup. Hey, what's wrong dude?" He saw the other look surprised and pale, wondering what could be wrong. "Don't I look like kickass quarterback material or what?"

"Yah, t-that's great! I'm sure you'll make a great quarterback," Arthur turned away from the other blonde, and acted as busy as possible with reorganizing what he could, but there wasn't much left to do.

"Thanks dude. So what position do you play?" Alfred seemed fine with continuing the conversation while he hung up a few things and got his desk in order.

Arthur though for a second, desperate to change the topic. So he answered quickly, "I play fullback. So what are you majoring in?"

Alfred thought for a second. "I'm probably going to major in communications, in case I don't make it into the big leagues, I'd like to be a journalist." He smiled, finishing up his work.

"Sounds like a good plan," Arthur had run out of thungs to clean or reorganize, so he grabbed a Sherlock Holmes book up off his shelf. It was 'The Valley of Fear', his favorite. The brit sat down his bed and began reading.

Alfred sat down on his bed, taking out his ipod and headphones, turning on one of his favorites songs by Three Days Grace.

After about ten minutes of reading, there was a sudden, loud knocking on the door, then a bunch of big, deep voices saying, "Hey, Arthur! Come on, get out here!" Arthur sighed and opened he door, faced with three guys of last year's football team. He put on a big, fake grin, "Hey guys!"

All the burly football players patted him on the shoulder, and Arthur tried to act just excited about a new football season. One of them, Ivan, said in this thick russian accent, "We're glad your back for another year as quarterback, Kirkland. It's not a team without you."

"Hey guys!" Alfred got off the bed, tossing his ipod aside. "I'm Alfred Jones! So you all are going to be on the team this year too?" -

Ivan smirked, "Und who are you? Oh, are you a freshman that they put on the team?" Arthur flinched a bit, mentally willing the american not to say anything about what position he would be playing. If any of the guys from the team found out now, he'd have to start out his junior year as the laughing stock- the junior who got replaced byba freshman. -

"Yup! I'm the new quarterback!" Alfred replied cheerfully, not thinking anything of it until he noticed Arthur's discomfort and frowned. "Hey Artie, why did they say that you were back as quarterback this year? I thought you said you were fullback?"
