Yep. x3
"People should never be used to terrible things, no matter what. I'm sure you've done nothing to deserve anything people or your family does to you." Antonio looked at him seriously, noticing that he had let down a wall. "What's going on with the family? Is there anything you can tell me?" -
He paused, thinking about so much that has happened. "Well...basically me and Veneziano live with our grandfather, who's basically a retired bastard who tries to use us to live out dreams he never was able to live. Veneziano is the more talented one in his eyes so he spends all his attention on him."
-
"Vale, that's not very fair of your grandfather. I'm sure you're just as talented as Veneziano, if not more. Your grandfather has no reason to be playing 'favorites' over any of his grandchildren." Well, now Antonio could understand why people usually spoke of Veneziano. Maybe they had the same belief as their grandfather. And maybe it was true that Lovino wasn't as talented, but Antonio found that sort of parenting unjust.
-
Lovino blushed, surprised at how kind his words were. He wasn't sure how to respond, just going with what was on his mind. "How would you know? He's right, anyway. I'm even more worthless than my brother. All I do is garden and cook, he says I might as well become a housewife!" He blushed even deeper, putting a hand over his mouth, pissed at himself for admitting something so embarrassing.
-
"But you have something you can do," Antonio told him. "And you know, gardening and cooking is exactly what I do. That's a talent of yours, and your grandfather has no right to tell you it's useless. It's a very useful thing." He chuckled softly, at both his remark and the blushing. Antonio had to admit, he didn't know what people didn't see in Lovino.
-
He looked back to him, and sighed. "Grazie, for listening to me..." He looked back at his feet, almost shyly now. Suddenly, the bell rang, signaling for everyone to go to their next class. He groaned. "Dammit, I don't want to go to P.E." He looked back to Antonio. "Do I still look like I cried?"
-
"De nada. I just want to make sure that you're okay." He smiled at Lovino and was sincerely content, except for the fact that they had to go to their classes now. "There are some lagrimas on your face. Here, let me get them." Antonio pulled down the sleeve of his uniform jacket and with that, he was able to gently wipe off the tears from Lovino's face. In that moment, he almost seemed like a guardian to a young child.
-
Lovino's face heated up again when Antonio started wiping away his tears. He would have normally pushed him away, but something about it was...nice. "Y-you don't need to do that, I could have gotten it."
-
Antonio wore his usual clueless face when he heard Lovino said that. "Vale, well I got them anyway. I'm sorry if you wanted to do that on your own or something. I guess I just wanted to help you some more or lo que sea." After that expression of his faded, he smiled. "You have PE for next period, right? I have it too."
-
"Ah, I've a thought I've seen you in there before." He grabbed his bookbag and started to walk out with him. "Don't you want to go back to your 'cool' friends now?"
-
He laughed a little at the last remark. "They're not all that cool, if you were being serious. All Francis talks about is French food and getting laid, and Gilbert brags about how awesome he is. I'm comfortable and all, but I'm just the pet of the group." He looked over at Lovino with a grin. "One day couldn't hurt. I can just hang around you, if you're okay with that."
-
Lovino almost chuckled at the descriptions. "I guess if you want to..." He walked into the locker room, and went to his locker, changing quickly. Some other guys were laughing and making jokes about him when they walked by, causing him to groan.
-
"Bien~" he chirped, smiling yet again. But that smile disappeared when he heard some of the guys giving insults and mocking laughter towards Lovino. Antonio turned to them and gave them a near death stare. Vaya, if he had his ax..
-
He finished and walked back to Antonio, slightly noticing how darkly he looked at the other guys. "Ready to go?"
-
"Oh, si. Just let me go get my running shoes on, then," he said sheepishly, going into the locker room quickly to retrieve his shoes.
