The Lightning Girl (part 1)

Alright, this is a story about a 15 year old girl named Alana. Your Alana, but I just like to write in 1st person, it's easier for me. If you have any questions or get confused while reading this then ask/tell me in the comments.

  2. A bright light surrounded me. I'm wondering if I'm dead. Terrible pain was going through my whole body. I have to be dying.... I have to be dying.... "Alana! Wake up! You don't want to be late for your first day of school!" Called my mom. I sighed. It wasn't the first day of school for everyone else, it was the second semester, and I was the new girl. "I'll be down in a minute!" I called back. As I got out of bed, I felt this electric shock run through my whole body. 'Weird.' I thought.
  3. As I was walking downstairs, I could already smell the bacon sizzling on the pan, and hear the birds chirping in the early morning light. As I reached the kitchen, I saw that my mom had made my breakfast and it was on a plate. Bacon, pancakes, and.... Orange juice? I thought my mom knew I hated orange juice. Then I remembered my sis-. "Good morning, Alana. How are you?" Asked my twin sister Anna. Anna had ice blue eyes with flecks of green and brown in them. Lucky for her, she got her power last week. Earth is her power. Oh, I forgot to mention that on a certain day, in my family, we each get a power and our eyes change a little. Anna could control earth, which basically means all the plants and dirt and well, you get it. So Anna was born with ice blue eyes and she now had flecks of green and brown in them. My mom had brown eyes with different shades of blue in them. She could control water. I haven't gotten my power yet.
  4. "Good morning, Anna. I'm fine." I replied. "Well that's good but you should be as excited as me. I mean come on sis, it's a new school and we might actually have a chance to try out normal." Anna said in her cheery voice. "I guess I'm just not really up to it." I said gloomly. "Well, I know what'll make you feel better," Anna said with a grin, "We could confuse people like we did at our last school."
  5. I smiled too, remembering when Anna and I told people that they were hallucinating by thinking there was two of us. 'Come on. You know you want to.' Anna said in my head. It was how we communicated. 'Oh fine.' I said while smiling. "I don't know what you girls are up to but you better st-." My mom was cut off short. "Thanks for making us breakfast mom. That'll be all." Said my brother Edward, (but he goes by Ed). With a wave of his hand, my mom was gone.
  6. Oh, I forgot to tell you about my brothers. Well, I have two brothers and they are also twins. (We're all quadruplets but Anna and I look more alike and Ed and Ethan look more alike). Ed has his power but Ethan, my other brother, doesn't. Ed has brown hair brown eyes with purple flecks in them. His power is psychic/ illusions/the force thing, like on Star Wars. He can also read people's minds and well, he can control them if he needed to. But, he only does that if necessary, he would never do that to our family. Well, while I'm on this subject, again, I should probably tell you more stuff about my family's powers.
  7. There are six really rare powers that haven't been claimed in about a century, until now. They are: Water, Earth, Wind, Fire, Lightning, and Psychic. Lucky for my mom, Ed, Anna, and my dad; (my dad has Fire and he has blue eyes with red flecks in them), they all have one of those powers. There has only been one person that was able to claim Lightning, and that was over 100,000,000 years ago. So no one gets that power because when he died unexpectedly, his power didn't have enough time to jump out of him. Which sucks 'cause I really wanted it, I even nicked named myself 'The Lightning Girl'.
  8. "Aww. Did you really have to do that, Ed?" Anna pouted. "Yep." Ed replied bluntly. "Someone's in a bad mood today." I commented. "Well, I don't like new schools." Ed snapped, "And why hasn't Ethan woken up yet?" Just then, I heard someone stomp down the stairs, and Ethan came into view. "Good morning, Ethan." Anna said cheerfully. "Yeah, not really." Ethan replied, sounding grouchy. "God. You two are in a horrible mood today, aren't you?" I said. "It's the first day of school." They both said at the exact same time. "Come on, is it really that bad?" Both Anna and I asked at the same time.
  9. Ethan and Ed looked at each other, then they both decided on one answer. "Yep." They said and then continued eating until their breakfast was all gone. "Hurry up and get ready. The bus will be here in 20 minutes." Anna told us. I ran upstairs and looked at my closet, deciding on what to wear. I finally decided that I was going to wear my favorite pair of skinny jeans, a black cami, light blue tank top, black ballet flats, and a jean jacket that stopped in the middle of my back. I put my hair in a French braid that started at one side of my head, ended at the other side, and went into a normal braid down my shoulder. I ran back downstairs and saw the bus coming down our road. Two seconds later, Ed and Ethan ran down the stairs. "Come on, let's go! The bus is here!" Anna yelled at us while holding open the door. "We're coming!" Ed, Ethan, and I angrily yelled back at her. We grabbed our bags and ran out of the house to catch the bus.
  10. CLIFFHANGER!! Yeah, I know that this part wasn't very long, it seemed longer on paper cause on paper, it was 5 pages long. I guess I just write big. And yeah, I know that this wasn't a very good cliffhanger. Well, bye, please comment and rate and tell me what you think about it.
