Post Apocalyptic Romance (quiz)

I hope the title was gripping enough, though I think I was a bit brash to so immediately use "romance." The basic plot to this quiz (which I will hopefully make more of) is that the modern human way of living has been destroyed. The legends of the past stood up to remind us that they aren't to be forgotten, and remade the world. No human remembers their life before the Fall, as the apocalypse was called. You, a lone bounty hunter, team up with a few other warriors and work to help the people. Along the way, you fall in love.

Who are you? Just like every other human, your life was reassigned after the Fall. Master Time chose the destiny of each human, and yours was special. Something you did in your past life has left him and the other legends no choice but to curse you with eternal solitude. An instinct burns inside of you to avoid other humans, for the message the legends burned into your mind was this: You are harmful. You will destroy them all, again and again. What does their message mean? You don't know, and maybe you never will. But, someone in the post-apocalyptic world you survive in may just change that.

  1. First off, let me just say that I'm a total amateur at this. I just had an idea, and figured making this quiz (more like an interactive story!) would be a fun way to let it out. My name, by the way, is pronounced Ay-luh-ee. Your name in this quiz is ____, aka whatever you want it to be.
  2. Secondly, I'm trying not to make your answers sound too corny, bias, etc. if they are, I'm sorry. Not perfect. However, some of them are my own opinion, or questions I'm asking myself. Like the first option.
  3. Did you read the memo on top? You might be a little in the dark without it, or think its one of those confusing stories that just start at a random exciting point. No offense to anyone.
  4. Shall we begin?
  5. Begin: Everyone wonders what really happened during the Apocalypse, or what has been nicknamed the Fall by the people. You, ____, know as little as the rest of them. Brief memories float around in your head, but are irrelevant to anything you need now. Who you were is a mystery, what you do now is not. As Master Time has cursed you, you are a loner, left to your own skills to survive. You are a relatively known bounty hunter, mercenary, assasin, whatever you want to be called, throughout your home realm.
  6. Not that this realm is a pleasant home. The rulers, deities who claim to have been distant legends before the Fall of the humans, take what they wish and return little. Citizens work hard year-round, only to have their harvest taken from them as soon as their lord has decided to have a feast for some frivolous cause.
  7. What is done to stop this? Little to nothing. You, among a few others, use what talents they have to help the people. As by the word of Time, you are not bound to any lord, but forced to live without the land or jobs supplied to citizens. You take advantage of this to do what you wish, and to utilize the skills you have. You work for various clients, who pay you to hunt down and/or kill whoever they wish. With your dagger, flute, bow and arrows, you carry out their dirty work.
  8. But don't believe you're a cold-blooded killer. Living out in the woods, you have no need for currency. All of your profits go to the families in need, who (like yourself) can do nothing to change their positions. If it is any solace, you only kill those who deserve it. Innocent blood is not on your hands.
  9. You wander about the forests, locked in eternal isolation. Your flute is a friendly companion, and you play it freely. You've learned a few enchanted tunes that come in handy, but that comes later. You also have obtained a gyr falcon in recent times. It flies through the frosted woods like a ghost, hence it's name "Phantom." It is a wild at heart, however, and only assists you on the occasional game hunt, or to deliver messages.
  10. Being alone does not mean you are without enemies nor allies. Word has spread about the mysterious cloaked figure, who has sentenced so many to certain death. There are others, of course, but your fame is merely from the idea that this figure is a female. Yes, after the Fall of human civilization, women have been left in the dust once more.
  11. And so, your fame is the source of your trouble. It has led a band of killers on your trail. What are they after? You'll find out soon enough.
  12. It was dusk. The moon was half full tonight, just rising over the mountainous forest. The last light was red, signaling for a clear night. You sighed in relief. The just harvested crops would not be destroyed by rainfall tonight. You had set your fire, and had just begun to roast the meager rabbit you had trapped. Watching it roast, skinless, over the scarlet fire, you sighed. The sky's rosalba clouds danced merrily around the setting sun. Feeling a rare and sweet moment of contentment, you pulled out your flute and played an improvised song. The letters "C A C C B D E," crossed your mind, and you passed them off as a wisp of a memory from before the fall. Were letters, perhaps, once used to measure the musical scale? Your thoughts drifted as you played softly into the night.
  13. However, years of living in constant fear of the unseen leaves you alert. The sound of a sharp intake of breath alarms you. Quick muttering follows. You continue to play the flute as if nothing was noticed, and casually shift position. You can now get a better glimpse of where the sound came from. You see the tip of a bow sticking out from some brambles, almost invisible. A shift in the dye of a coat reveals another enemy in the trees. Evidence of movement behind a plant in visible as well. You warily wonder if you are surrounded. How would you handle this situation?
  14. You decide to use your favorite strategy: Confuse, convey, confront. To confuse, you play a note that sounds out of tune with the rest. This note is enchanted, and will cause an awful itch on a few of the enemies. Their reactions should confuse the rest. To convey, or make known, you put your flute down. Nonchalantly, you say, "I know you're there." You do nothing to confront, yet. You take your rabbit off of the spit over the fire. "I know you're there." You repeat. You have decided to let them confront. You know you're surrounded, and hurting one of them would result in immediate death for you from another. Escaping would be nearly impossible. The most likely way to survive was to go against all your instincts, and trust the enemy. Let them do as they will.
  15. End of Part One. Okay, there was my introduction. You know who you are and what your conflict is. The romantic part will come later on. Don't expect this to be extremely mushy-gushy, or for everything to go perfectly, okay? Thanks. I hope you liked it. Did you?
