Firestar's loyal mate. Sandpaw--along with Dustpaw, mocked the kittypet Rusty, who later became Firestar. But Firepaw soon made a very different impression on her, as she began to admire his bravery and loyalty. But Sandstorm began to feel jealous when she found out her mate was talking to the dead medicine cat, Spottedleaf. Firestar had to convince her (and it's not easy) that he and Spottedleaf are just friends. Sandstorm was brave and understanding when she when on the quest to rebuild SkyClan with Firestar.
