Punctuation in English | Comments

For some unknown reason, the "comment" input box in gotoquiz stripped the apostrophes and quotation marks from my comment. I think it was because I composed the comment in Wordpad and then copied into the input box. So here is (I hope) my comment as I meant it to be seen:

This is a flawed quiz. Here's why I say that:

1) The best answer to question 1 is "no punctuation is needed." Addition of a comma to the sentence is OK if the writer wants to indicate a pause, but is not needed otherwise.

2) A semicolon in the 5th sentence is acceptable, but a period would have been better.

3) No comma is needed in sentence 7. If the quiz composer considered a comma necessary, why was no comma included in the "correct" answer to question 8?

Well, I only got 91% because I got the 1st question "wrong". I was quite amused that although I had entered my age in the quiz (over 60), and that I have been a professional editor and copyreader, the quiz composer recommended that I "ask my teacher for more help." Absolutely precious!

Question 9 does not have a correct answer. The answer you have listed as "correct" is missing a period!

It said I got two wrong, #1 and #11. Well, there happen to be two correct answers to those questions.
