Well I don't know what to say really, they say I have a Midland accent in other words no accent; however, I do have an accent, I was born in Colombia S.A and I'd been in USA for over 34 years.
-
In my accent "on" doesn't sound like either "don" or "dawn", though both "don" and "dawn" have a distinct sound. The "O" in "on" is the "o" sound that goes before the "Eee" sound in the "oi" sound. This test is fundamentally flawed!

I have a midland accent. I've lived in West New Jersey and the Philly suburbs my whole life. Pretty cool. But you can't really tell an accent without hearing someone.

My accent is British (southeastern English with a strong London tinge), so I'm not surprised that when analysed as an American my answers put me in the US Northeast. I also drop my 'r's (of course).

How funny - said I had a "North Central" accent (is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent) and that outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot.
I am, in fact, Canadian.
-
Wow, they are right, I am from the Chicago suburbs. I never really thought of myself actually having accent so its kind of interesting. I always kinda thought I just talked like people on TV.

I'm form the midwest (Michigan) although it didn't exactly have Michigan..
Anyways, they should have had a question about pop. I mean really, that's one of the clearest indicators of accent!
-
'm from the Northeast - Connecticut and I certainly do not call soda "pop", it's soda. I don't know why I'd be categorized as the Inland North - maybe because I lived in Indiana for a year?

Whoa! In my case this quiz was totally inaccurate, in that I'm a native Californian. Never even visited Philidelphia or the Mid-American states; although I have lived in other countries.

I'm an Iowa boy living in South Dakota and It said Midlands. Tom Brokaw is from SD. And by the way, carbonated drinks are properly soda pop, so either is correct.

"If you're from anywhere in the USA you have an accent (which may or may not be the accent of the place you're from)."
So those other 6 and a half billion or so people...they don't count.
Just thought this sentence could use some rewording :P

I was raised in tennis where in our small town there where no cars, not electricity. we used horses to get around and we did squire dancing! so i have a heavy country accent. idk what's going on here but. so i feel like this needs updating.

Got South, never been there in my life, and it's the third quiz to tell me so. Everyone I know tells me I have a weird French, mushy-fast northeastern accent, rather unique.

Spent 8 semesters in Rochester, N.Y., otherwise lived my whole life in SoCal. Dad from Kansas City, Mo. and Mom from Montevideo, Uruguay. Scored 97% Northeastern. Yeah, right.
-
It says I'm from the North East!
That is actually accurate, though I am from Canada's New Brunswick where, being a European Immigrant, I learned to speak English!
The North East!

Pretty close but I've lost some of my native West Virginia words like on rhymes with own; wash rhymes with borscht and rinse rhymes with wrench.

From the comments above, it doesn't sound like the majority of people agree with their assessment. You guys should do another accent quiz and be more specific.

"Midland" aka "don't have an accent". I agree. My family is from NY and I was raised in Northern VA...close to DC. I've been surrounded by northern and southern accents, as well as many foreigners so I guess it evened things out :P
-
The quizmeister says I have a Midland accent. Weird, because I spoke Spanish the first 5 years of my life, and I know I have a slight Spanish accent. Unless the Midland U.S. is in Mexico, which might have been the case, my accent CAN'G be Midland.

This is the most unaccurate accent test I have ever seen or taken!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 I am 100% southern and everyone says they want to listen to me for hours talk and even some of my own "want a be" southern friends have a hard time understanding my southern twaull. So when I came up "western/ with no accent" I just had to shake my head and laugh. Ridiculous test!
-
I'm from Ireland(Co. Tyrone), been in the states full time for 30+ years living in the Philadelphia region; quiz has me down as 77% Midwest. Must be the john Wayne influence. ;)

I got inland north. I'm from Wisconsin so that sounds right but then it said I probably call carbonted beverages "pop". I've never heard anyone here call a soda a "pop".
-
90% midland. Close. I have lived in Kansas for about 60 years with several years as a kid in other states. I skipped one question because on in my opinion does not rhyme with either Dawn or Don. Which sound the same to me.

I apologize for those weird typos in my posted comment. I was not aware of them until I saw them on the screen. Really, I don't usually type so poorly. Must be the late hour.
