My nails are two inches long, and I sharpen them. Yes I could, and I kind of have to, because of me older brother. -
what if the guy has nails too?

honestly fingernails aren't that useful. humans have weak nails and in a very serious fight they'd prob break. striking, biting, chokes, locks, and throws are all very useful but scratching really isn't. it can probably be useful once in a fight to surprise ur opponent. that would usually be an opening to escape but since the goal here is winning the fight it could be an opening to do a stronger follow up attack. you definitely shouldn't count on nails as your main weapon in any circumstance tho
