  An implant is typically a restorative method helping you in restoring the missing teeth. The surgical procedure however includes placing a metal abutment to the bone; the abutment is placed after grafting/removing the jawbone of the decayed or missing tooth. It is somewhat drilled in the bone like a screw. Needless to say, the implant however stays firm for years, without affecting the working of the adjacent teeth.
