so if there are any tips you would like to give me, please do. I'm running with a friend and I'm pretty good at long distance, so 3 miles won't be too bad, right?
*I already know the proper breathing tecnique, but those of you who run tract or cross-sountry probably know more tips. I could use some tips from those who already know what they were doing. -
Dont go too fast at the beginning.
I always make that mistake...XD
And, make sure you actually run across the finish line, dont walk across. It will make you look slow. -
Basically what skyler said. xp

Yeah, don't go too fast in the beginning. And breathe through your nose, but you probably know that. I'm not the best to ask on this. I prefer to run really fast over short distances and walk long distances. I have the running capability of a Neanderthal.

You want to be in-between a run and a sprint when you start off. After like the first 200 meters, you want to develop a pace (also known as your race pace). A lot of people say to not look at the person's feet in front of you because then you develop their running style and pace. But, I think that actually helps me when I run. I also think looking at the ground is better then having your head up the whole time. I also breathe through my nose the whole time (don't know if that has anything to do with it or not). When running up hills, you kinda want to have your feet in-between being on the ground and up on your toes (if that makes any sense) and you want to lean forward. When going down hills, you don't want to full out sprint down the hill. Just relax and let your legs go so you save energy. When going around corners, I find it easier to be on the outside than on the inside because everyone is trying to run on the inside and it's just a big mess. Then, at like the last 100-200 meters, you just want to full out sprint.
Hope this helps :). -
Oh, also, when going down hills, lean back.

Thanks guys, I could use any help I could get. :P
Thank you! These are great tips! -
What do I do when I get hurt? I felt sore from my thighs, even if I stretch. It already happened twice from my calves and my left thigh. It sucked because I had to run in P.E. the day of after I hurt my calve. (Funny how I managed to get 2nd in the 600)
