"Hey- no, hey, what was that for?" Chris asked, a worried look washing over his face. "What's the matter, hun? What's up?"

Mason forced a brighter smile. ‘I still feel bad,’ he said quietly.

"About not saying 'I love you' back?" Chris asked in a quiet voice, holding Mason close.

‘Yeah,’ Mason mumbled.

"Aw, baby," Chris said with a sympathetic smile, watching Mason for a moment. "Don't feel bad about it, hun, please- seriously, I'm just so happy we're in the same room together, let alone dating again. And, I don't want you to force yourself to say something you're not ready to say, alright?"

Mason nodded, giving a weak smile as he continued to play with Chris’s hair. ‘I know. I feel like I’m leading you on, though.’

"Well, do you like me? Not love, but like?" Chris asked, leaning into Mason's touch a little. "Do you want to date me, and be my boyfriend?"

Mason nodded, looking back down at him.

"See? You're not leading me on," Chris said, smiling. "I don't care that you haven't said 'I love you', I'm just glad you're, y'know, willing to date me, still-" He chuckled awkwardly, looking down.

Mason gave a small smile. ‘Okay,’ he said quietly, taking his hands through Chris’s hair.

"Seriously, don't sweat it, babe," Chris said with a small smile, lifting his head again. "I really don't care, promise, hun~"

Mason relaxed slightly and nodded. ‘Thanks.’

"You're welcome, honey~" Chris said with a smile, kissing Mason's cheek.

Mason smiled, leaning into his touch. ‘What do you wanna do?’

"Hmm, not sure-" Chris replied, shrugging a little as he held Mason close.
