“Yeah, you scared me half to death,” George chuckled quietly.

“Sorry,” Clay said with a quiet chuckle, leaning closer into George’s side. “I’m uh, also sorry for not saying anything sooner. About, not feeling well…”

“No, it’s okay,” George said softly, rubbing Clay’s arm with his thumb. “I’m just glad you didn’t try and tough it out.”

“I almost did, like I always do,” Clay murmured, exhaling softly. “I just didn’t want to ruin our hangout, and I- I dunno. It was dumb of me to try and just, deal with it myself and ignore it…”

“It was dumb “ George agreed, nodding a little. “Please- please tell me if you’re not feeling well. I care about you more than one hangout with my friends.”

Clay exhaled softly, nodding. “I’ll try to remember,” he promised George, the hand resting on the brunette’s leg clenching into a fist, “but it’s just- it’s kinda hard to do when it’s how you’ve dealt with all your problems. Push them down and ignore them.”

“I get that,” George nodded, moving his hand to grab Clay’s fist. “Trust me, I do. But I’m here for you- and I want you to get better.”

Clay’s hand relaxed a little and he nodded, closing his eyes for a moment. “Thank you for caring about me so much,” he spoke softly, a small smile on his face as he opened his eyes again.

“Of course,” George said with a soft smile, raining their fingers together. “I couldn’t imagine doing anything else~”

Clay blushed and smiled, turning his hand over to his palm was pressed against George’s. “God, I love you so much,” he murmured softly, lifting his boyfriend’s hand and pressing a kiss on the back of it.

“I love you too,” George said with a bright smile, squeezing Clay’s hand.

Clay hummed softly with content, rubbing the back of George’s hand with his thumb.

“Do you wanna go get milkshakes again?” George asked after a moment of silence.

“Ooh, yes-“ Clay said, lifting his head. “That sound awesome right about now~”

“Hell yeah,” George said with a smile, lifting his head and moving to stand.
