“Uh, well, your mum was just- very excited,” George said softly with an awkward chuckle. “Startled me a little.”
-
Clay chuckled, nodding. “Yeah, she gets like that sometimes,” he said, sliding his hand down George’s arm and grabbing his hand. “So, whatcha wanna do now? Watch TV, go hang out in my room? Or we could go for another walk-“
-
“Uh,” George paused. “I could eat, honestly. Are there anymore leftovers?”
-
“Yeah, I think so,” Clay replied with a nod, walking into the kitchen. “Not sure if my mom put it up already, though-“
-
“If she did already, then don’t worry about it,” George said with a soft chuckle.”We can just go watch a movie or somthing.”
-
“You sure? I can get you a snack or something-“ Clay said, looking back at George.
-
“Yeah, don’t worry about it,” George said with a small smile. “There’s a particular movie I want to watch with you-“
-
Clay watched George for a moment, nodding shortly. “Fine, but if you get hungry, just let me know and I can get you something to eat- And, what movie?”
-
“It’s called An American in Austen,” George said, moving into the living room. “A girl from like, the present time gets teleported into the book Pride and Prejudice. It’s so funny,” he said, with a smile, sitting down on the couch.
-
Clay chuckled, nodding. “Sounds good,” he said with a smile, sitting down beside George. He grabbed a nearby blanket, pulling it over their legs and wrapping his arm around his boyfriend’s waist. “I don’t need to have read Pride and Prejudice to watch this, do I?” He asked, chuckling softly.
-
“Shut the f--- up, you’ve never read it??” George said suddenly, a shocked look appearing on his face. “How?? Did you not read it for school?”
-
“No, it’s not a book in our curriculum,” Clay replied with a laugh, shaking his head. “At least I don’t think so-“ He watched George with a smile, leaning into his side.
-
George scoffed a little. “Ugh, you and your stupid American- Pride and Prejudice is like, the only good book ever I swear to God. It was the only book I read willingly for school. You’re reading it you don’t have a choice-“
-
Clay chuckled, nodding. “Yeah, I figured you’d say something like that,” he said with a laugh, kissing George’s jaw. “Guess I’ll have to buy a copy or something now~”
-
“No, I brought one with me, that’s how good it is,” George said with a laugh. “But- ugh, I don’t know if we can watch this movie anymore if you don’t know the plot-“
