Ernest blushed. “Is there anything new you remember?” He asked.

‘I…’ Mahina mumbled. ‘I guess…’

Ernie raised an eyebrow. “Do you mind if I ask what the memory is?” He asked, both curious and a little concerned over her reaction.

‘Sure.’

“Sure as in I can ask?” Ernie clarified.

‘Yeah…’

“Alright. What was the memory about?”

Mahina looked away. ‘It was the day after my parents left me here.’

Ernie grimaced. He could imagine that wasn’t a pleasant memory. “I’m sorry.”

Mahina shook her head. ‘At least it’s something.’

Ernest shrugged. “I guess…”

Mahina leaned against him, sighing.

Ernie wrapped his arm around her. “You alright?”
