Chester rolled his eyes with a chuckle. ‘Cake sounds good,’ he said with a small laugh.

"Fine, just the cake and the banner." Jayd sighed.

Chester kissed his forehead. ‘Weirdo.’

"You're not denying the party...." Jayden said hopefully.

‘No party.’

"Ugh, why not?" Jayd asked. "We could do a small one..."

‘No party,’ Chester said, shaking his head. ‘Sorry, love.’

"Why not?" Jayden repeated.

‘Because I said so.’

Jayd frowned. "An actual reason, please?"

‘… Because it… could be… unpleasant.’

"Why?" Jayden asked softly. "You don't have to answer if it's too personal or anything."

Chester looked away. ‘You can have your secrets, and I’ll have mine. I’d rather not say.’

Jayden frowned, but nodded. "Alright, I get it."

‘Thanks,’ Chester said with a weak smile.
