Olivia grinned like a Cheshire cat.

Tanner laughed.

Olivia chuckled.

"Maniac." Tanner muttered.

"What?"

"You're grinning like a maniac."

"I am?" Olivia said, her face turning into a frown.

"No, it's fine!" Tanner said quickly. "It's cute." He turned bright red after saying that. "Pretend I didn't say anything."

Olivia didn't quite understand the last part Tanner said.
"Y-You think i-it's... cute?" Olivia stammered nervously, her face instantly turning into a bright pink. She stopped talking for a moment. "S-sorry about that, I just thought that you were trying to--- well..." Her embarrassment had won. She barely uttered one sentence and she was already at a loss for words. -
Tanner blushed more-if that was even possible. "I-Well-I mean-Ughhhh!" He couldn't stop stuttering. He hid his face, not wanting her to see how much he was blushing.

Olivia would have told him it was okay and that she didn't mean to cause this, but she was too embarrassed --- or in this case, flattered, to do so. Her face turned into a light crimson as she put an arm around Tanner and sighed.

Tanner looked up before looking down again quicker than you could say 'nervous wreck'.

Olivia was still nervous, but somehow she finally found the courage to say something. She figured that now was the time to say it, rather than to wait.
"Tanner, I have something to tell you." she said in a quiet voice. -
Tanner's eyes widened. "Ok." He said nervously.
