"Y-Yeah. Fiiine," Clay said, the drowsiness talking over. He coughed before just closing his eyes. "Iiii'm fine."
Karl glanced over at Clay. "Ha, the Medicine is working. It did take a hell of a lot longer than it should have." He moved closer to Nick and rested his head on his boyfriend's lap. -
Nick scoffed. "But it worked. Do you wanna ditch him here and go home? Hopefully he sleeps the whole night- and we can get the house ready for George?"
-
"Watch him wake up in like ten minutes," Karl said sarcastically as he sat upright. "Yeah, let's go."
"Goooo?" Clay mumbled, his eyes still closed. "Go where?" -
"See you later, Clay," Nick called, chuckling. "Call us if they discharge you or something, 'kay?"
-
"But where?" Clay's eyes fluttered open and there was a slight panic in his tired eyes.
"Hey, it's okay. We'll be back soon, okay? We're just gonna go rest at home, while you rest here, okay?" Karl said softly as he moved towards the bed. He pulled the blanket up and partially tucked him in, at least so he wasn't cold. "Everything's alright." -
Sapnap stuck out his lower lip, chuckling quietly. "So kind, Karl."
-
Clay's eyes closed again and he quickly fell asleep, the medicine finally taking full effect.
"Hey, gimme a break." Karl stuck his tongue out at Nick before grabbing his phone and keys off the table. "I'm just trying to be nice." -
"And that's what I'm saying," Nick said with a chuckle, holding out his hand for Karl.
-
Karl took Nick's hand and smiled. "Without me almost drowning, this most likely wouldn't have happened. I wonder what would have happened if Clay had never introduced us in the first place." Karl wondered aloud as they checked out and walked out to the cars.
-
"Don't even think about that," Nick stated, scrunching his nose. "At least we're here now."
-
"Yeah, you're right." Karl stopped in between the cars. "Are we driving separately or are we leaving Clay a car?" He asked as he ran a hand through his hair. He hoped for some time alone with Nick, but also didn't want to smother or bother him
-
"Uh," Nick paused. "I think we should take both cars, because I do not want Clay driving himself home. Is that okay?"
-
"Yeah, that's fine!" Karl lied. He glanced at Nick in confusion. "Do you even have your keys?" He asked.
-
"Mhm," Nick stated. "I put them in my pocket while we were waiting for Clay to wake up."
-
"Oh alright," Karl said. He turned to Nick and wrapped his arms around him.
