"What happened?" Nick said, smothering a chuckle as he watched the blonde.
George jumped when Matthew touched him. "No- I'm okay I'm fine-" -
"Something's seriously wrong with George, someone is treating him like s***." Dream said angrily. He sat up and turned to look at Nick standing in the doorway. "It's bad, and I don't think George understands how bad it is."
"Please...I'm so sorry." Matthew gently said as he pulled George into a hug. "I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry." He repeated. -
"Oh, jeez," Nick said, his smile fading. "Do you know who it is? Have you talked to George yet?"
George shook his head, repeating a quiet 'no' several times as he let his head fall onto Matthew's shoulder. -
"No f***ing idea." Clay said. "I was on the phone when the person came into the room. He...grawled in a way." Clay was practically growling himself, because the fact that someone was treating George that way made him furious.
Matthew tightly gripped George and ran a hand through the brunette's hair. "Babe I'm so sorry, I hurt you and I scared you" Matthew gently lifted George out of the chair and onto the ground with him. -
"Huh," Nick said with a pause. "Who would George have seen?"
George hummed shakily in reply, hiccuping and squeezing his eyes shut. "It's okay." -
"What do you mean?" Clay asked as he attempted to stand. He hissed in pain when he put pressure on his right leg, and it almost gave out.
Matthew carefully brushed a tear off of George's face. "No, no it's not. I'll do better, I promise." -
"Okay- sit back down," Nick said, walking over and making Clay sit. "But like, who would George be with right now? It's pretty late in the UK right now, right?"
George glanced over, searching Matthew's eyes for a moment. He stopped after a moment, wrapping his arms around his lover and nuzzling his neck. -
Clay glared at Nick briefly. "I can take care of myself." He said defiantly. His eyes wandered over to the computer monitor at his desk. "I-I'm not sure."
Matthew held George close and sighed deeply. "I love you, and you deserve so much better." He whispered -
"I'm just trying to help," Nick said quietly to Clay's comment. "Huh, odd. Didn't George say he had like, a boyfriend on a recent stream?"
"I love you too," George replied weakly, continuing to hide his face. -
Clay's eyes widened and he felt the color drain from his face as he leaned back in the chair. "Holy s***..."
Matthew rose from the floor and picked George up 'bridal style'. He carried him to their room. "You need rest," Matthew said quietly. -
"So you think it's his boyfriend?" Nick asked.
George didn't try to fight, rather just melted onto Matthew, staying quiet. -
"It's the only thing that makes sense...George has been acting weird since he started dating him. 'Distant', in a way. He won't talk to either of us about much anymore. And they're living together now." Clay's words were frantic and rushed. He could barely breathe.
Matthew laid George down on the bed, and turned around to switch off the light. -
"Hey, breathe for a sec, okay? It'll be fine. George has already agreed to come here, right? It'll be fine," Nick tried to assure him.
George grabbed the blanket, pulling it to his shoulders and turning over. -
Clay looked up at Nick and sighed. "Yeah, you're right. But he's living with someone that treats him that way. His boyfriend nearly knocked him out of his chair earlier, imagine the other stuff he could have done or will do." His voice sounded strained and he could feel his chest tighten.
Matthew shut out the light and crawled into bed with George. He got underneath the blanket as well and wrapped an arm around George's waist. -
"Yeah," Nick said quietly. "Let's try and get him to talk tomorrow, okay? It's scary but we can't really do anything right now."
George laid still, zoning out as he stared out at the darkness.
