George answered almost immediately, leaning back in his chair. "Go into your kitchen, put me on speaker and you can talk while you make or eat food. Please."
-
"Alright." Dream said weakly. He slowly walked out of his room, and then down the long hallway to the kitchen. He moved the phone from his ear and put George on speaker. "I'm gonna make cereal...I think." It was clear that he was exhausted, just by the confusion and ache in his voice.
-
"Okay," George said with a nod. "That's good. Cereal is good. While you're making it you can explain what's going on."
-
"Okay...I just feel...alone? I..." Dream did his best to choose his words carefully. "I like someone that'll never like me back, my anxiety is getting worse and worse, I don't know anymore. I'm never hungry, I can't sleep, I-I don't want to bother anyone. You shouldn't have to hear this either. I haven't even really talked to Sapnap recently." He grabbed a box of cereal from the cabinet and pulled a bowl out of the dishwasher.
-
"Okay," George said with a nod. "And Dream, you aren't supposed to struggle through this alone. There are people around you to help. Maybe for the eating thing, you have to start a habit of some sort? You could set reminders on your phone, or I could remind you. I've never gone through it myself, but I know it's hard." George hadn't just skipped over the first thing he said about liking someone, but George decided to leave it.
-
Dream sighed with relief. "You're right, it'll help if I set reminders." He said as he reached to open the refrigerator door. He pulled the gallon of milk out and set it on the counter. "I- George I'm so sorry." Dream whispered.
-
"Don't be sorry," George stated, leaning back in his chair. "I'm always here to help." The brunette never particularly liked talking about feelings or emotions, -he almost never talked about his- but if it was for the good of his friends he would try his best. "What are you eating?"
-
"Thank you...That means so much...you have no idea." Dream said, the relief prominent in his voice. "Cereal...um Apple Jacks" He laughed
-
"I don't think I've ever had those before," George stated with a chuckle, furrowing his eyebrows.
-
"Really!? HOW!? They're so good!" Dream exclaimed as he poured milk into the bowl. His mood was slowly starting to improve, thanks to George.
-
"I dunno, they're just not in the UK," George said with a shrug, chuckling. "What do they taste like?"
-
"Oh, that makes sense!" Dream said with a laugh. "They're like apples and cinnamon." He grabbed a spoon and carried everything over to the table.
-
"Oh, interesting combination," George said, pausing for a moment.
-
Dream ate a spoonful of the cereal, and fully realized how hungry he was.
-
"You know, I haven't even told my boyfriend I'm leaving yet," George said, breaking the silence. He didn't sound nervous per se- the emotion lacing his voice was almost indescribable.
