(It do be like that sometimes :P)
Quackity nodded, “I’m excited to meet you both. Lord Schlatt, my king, is incredibly interested in befriending your noble power.”
Sapnap lead everyone back into the palace and into the throne room back where they left George, “ you don’t say? Power? Is that what your so interested in?”
“Excuse me, Sapnap…” Quackity started appearing a bit hurt from the knight’s spiteful words, “ I had no intentions of making it seem that way. We simply want to be aligned in power and friends if you will. There are very few kingdoms remaining. Your kingdom seems to be thriving!” Quackity hummed.
Sapnap furrowed his brows and looked at him and the group and help his claymore out of habit once more. Noticing his grip Dream held the long sword attached to his waist subtly.
Quackity cleared his throat,” perhaps we could take the next few days to get to know each other. My king of course if a bit busy now but I can answer any questions you may have about him and his power,” he smiled. Upon looking more closely at Quackity his scar over his right eye is more apparent in the light. All of them have their fair share of injuries. A raggedy bunch. -
(srsly :’)
i mean, it may be that i’m not super great at rping with this type of plot, in a more medieval style,
but it’s fine lmaoo i like how this is going anyway)
“However long is fine by me,” Karl replied with a smile. “It’s always nice to make some new friends.”
(again, sorry it’s so short, dunno what else to put :’)) -
(It's all good lol just do whatever you are comfortable with ^^)
Sapnap grimaced and looked disgusted at the pride that was beaming from Quackity, "I hope you would excuse my abruptness but I need to talk to his majesty for a moment!" Sapnap quickly put his arm around Karl and pushed him off to the side so the others could not here leaving the group alone with George, "Karl, with all do respect I don't trust it! I really don't trust them. That- The mask guy! Dream or whatever- He is no where near knight conduct. His posture is horrible, his armor is brash and unshined. I bet he's stolen it or something! Can we be so sure they are even with Manburg?" Sapnap was flooded with worry. Formalities were completely forgotten when the two were alone.
Quackity sighed and looked at George, "So the advisor, huh? What's it like working for the king?"
"you guys have the same job. That's a loaded question," Dream quipped.
Quackity's façade broke for a moment. His excitable smile fell and shot dream a dark look before sighing and looked at George, " I mean only to get to know the you and the king and your kingdom," He tried to pull the same smile but it was weaker due to Dream's remark. -
Karl yelped as Sapnap dragged him away, shooting a glare at the ravenette. “What’s your problem with them?” He asked, crossing his arms. “Just because they don’t fit the “standard protocol”, doesn’t mean that they aren’t knights. They probably just have different standards over there. Anyways, they seem like they mean no harm and if there is going to be some alliance between us, I have to trust them.” He rested a hand on Sapnap’s shoulder, exhaling. “I understand your worry, I’m a tad anxious myself, but we should trust them. They certainly seem to know what they’re talking about, so we shouldn’t worry. Okay?”
-
Sapnap let go of the breath he was holding and grumbled a bit to himself, " I-... I trust you. Not because you're the king but because I respect you as my friend. I'll support your decisions, " Sapnap huffed a bit of smoke releasing from his nose, something the fire born did occasionally during one of his "moods".
Dream laughed watching Quackity squirm. It was funning to see him loose his cool. Something about this mission was revealing a whole new side to the mercenary. -
Karl smiled calmly, patting Sapnap on the head. “Good. Now, let’s get back to the boys, shall we?”
(b r a i n d e a d :’)) -
(Saaame honestly T~T)
Sapnap reluctantly gave in leading them back into the main hallway. Quackity instantly straightened up and nudging Dream to do the same, " Again, please forgive my sudden, "Sapnap paused to try and find the right word, "discussion with the king. I hope we can move forward with this proposal," Despite the formalities and apologetic nature, Sapnap's tone was dripping with sarcasm and sheer disappointment.
Quackity didn't seem to care and he bowed to the king with a wide toothy smile, "Excellent! I'll send Fundy to bring news to the king just give him any message about terms or even worries you may have. In the meantime, I hate to be a parasitic guest but, do you have any accommodations within your palace? If we could stay here for a brief while, it would make the documentation process of signing agreements and such about a hundred times easier. I promise my group and I will behave, worst case scenario I have to send them away to be personally punished by Lord Schlatt, " Quackity hummed.
Dream rolled his eyes beneath the mask and Fundy's expression was stiff and blank. Both were thinking about how merciless Schlatt could be. He kept everyone in check. There was a reason his tyranny reigned for as long as it had. -
“It’d be my pleasure to host you and your friends,” Karl said with a smile. He raised a hand, gesturing towards a maid off to the side who was preoccupied with cleaning. “I’ll have the maids get the guest rooms ready for you lot, shouldn’t take too long.” The maid looked over and nodded, hastily rushing off. “Now, in the meantime, how about I give you all a tour of the palace?”
-
"We would love a tour!" Quackity beams, " Thank you so much, your majesty! I- we really appreciate your hospitality. Your mushroom forests were a bit confusing to navigate. Having finally arrived here, it's relieving to see how welcomed we are, "The advisor looked at his companions who all just sort of looked at him back, "In short, thank you!"
Sapnap rolled his eyes and kinda just stared down the two men he considered threats. He was standing right next to Karl and in front of George, extremely defensive of his friends. -
Karl beamed from ear to ear, clasping his hands. “It’s not a problem! Now, how about that tour?” He turned and began to walk through the palace with the guests, pointing out the different rooms and areas.
“And here are your living quarters,” Karl said, arriving at the freshly cleaned guest rooms. “Enough for all of you, I hope. If you ever need anything, just come find me, Sapnap, George or any one of the maids or staff.” -
Quackity pressed his finger tips together than covered his mouth with them, "It's amazing! Thank you so much! Do lets us know when you are ready to go over the treaties, " Quackity looked at Fundy who's ears rose and fell with uncertainty. In the end nothing was said only a nod was shared between the two. Fundy bowed to Karl and left immediately, "I've just sent Fundy off back home for the King's reply and maybe a notice for when he should be available to join us."
Dream suddenly walked past Tubbo towards the first room and walked looked in, looked back at the others then the room again. He whistled softly, "You guys really know how to spoil a guy. This is..."
"Like a home away from home! Exactly like our own!" Quackity piped up with a laugh.
"Sure..."Dream chuckled and then stepped into the room and shut the door a bit louder than what he wanted to.
"He's a bit tired. Lots of monsters on the way up here and most of us aren't fighters like him so-"Quackity cleared his throat, "he's just a bit crabby..." -
“It’s only natural, no need to apologize,” Karl said with a smile, nodding in understanding. “We can get started on discussing treaties whenever you’re free. I do have a few things to attend to, but just come talk to me and we can start whenever.” He backed up towards the door, smiling. “Now, I’ll let you all settle in. It’s lovely to meet you guys!” Karl said brightly before exiting, heading towards his quarters.
-
Sapnap quickly followed after Karl staring daggers towards Quackity while they left. When they left his sight he finally started to relax a bit. He had been so tense the last few hours because of them.
~~~
Quackity left to look inside his own room. He set down his satchel bag and shut the door behind him. He began to remove his over coat and then his overalls. His back contained a large hump and it seemed to move separate from his body. He started to restlessly remove the buttons from his shirt and only stopped once to wince at a sharp pain that stretched across his back. He quickly threw off his shirt revealing a sort of binder and nervous fingers pried off the the buckles. With a thud, the leather binding fell to the floor and saffron wings slowly stretched out. His breath hitched as his right wing extended much slower than the other. It was more course and the feathers were more ruffled, some were even still dyed a bit of a brown or red from seemed to be blood. He was in pain. It always hurt to stretch himself out but it was important if he ever wanted them to heal one day. Quackity looked at himself in a vanity placed on a small dresser. He looked at the helpless face, completely week and pitiful. He hated it. If it was one thing Quackity learned while working for the king, it was that weakness was detrimental. He was the reason he lost the ability to fly due to injury. It was his fault. His breathing grew heavy and his knuckles turned white. He was on a mission, failure would not be acceptable. -
“Well, I’d say that went pretty well,” Karl said with a smile, opening the door to his quarters and walking in. “Don’t you think so, Sapnap?” He looked over at the ravenette, sitting down at his desk.
-
Sapnap huffed but nodded slowly in agreement,” they’re agreeable… and polite… I suppose,” Sapnap set his claymore in its scabbard on the bed and sat down in one of the other chairs, “That Quackity dude is full of it and the Dream or whatever is kinda a crap guard especially if he’s got that stupid clay mask. How are you supposed to defend people with a ridiculous amount of blind spots?” Sapnap scoffed.
