Ok, i'll start.
Jayden lounged on his chair, drinking a cup of coffee while reading a newspaper. Then he saw something impossible. "ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE: OUR POPULATION'S DOWNFALL." read the paper. -
Reggie stood in the aisle of a now abandoned supermarket, comparing two different brands of canned soup. It was a stupid thing to get hung up on, he knew, but in the long run he was sure he'd benefit from picking the more nutritionally complete of the two. He couldn't afford to dedicate the room in his duffel bag to nothing but chicken noodle, so, after standing there for what felt like at least two minutes, he stood the brand that didn't quite make the cut back up on the shelf and swept a few cans of his chosen brand into the bag. With that dilemma sorted, he moved on down the aisle.
He'd encountered a few other looters on his way through the store, but things seemed to be fairly quiet in this area at least, and no one had seen fit to attack him for his supplies yet. He'd even managed to avoid getting within twenty feet of any of those stupidass monsters shuffling around the streets, which he considered incredibly lucky, as he'd seen them pursuing a young woman on his way here. He wasn't too keen on reflecting on what might have happened to her, so he went to examining cans of sliced fruit. -
Jayden stood up. He went to the dinner table, still drinking his fresh cup of coffee, where he left his phone a few minutes ago. He called Reggie. "Hello? Reg? Where are you right now?" he said, lightly.

(I forgot they were already supposed to know each other lmao
we should probably figure out how they know each other so that age difference doesn't feel so unlikely)
Admittedly, Reggie had something of a fruit problem. This was reflected in the amount of space he'd allowed canned fruit to occupy in the duffel bag. He couldn't help it- if he didn't eat fruits and vegetables fairly regularly, he started feeling unclean. And fruit was, naturally, the tastier of those two things.
As he headed toward the canned pastas, he felt the vibration from his phone in his back pocket before he heard the ring. He instinctively reached for it, but was unable to answer it before the ringtone chimed loudly through the store, like a beacon. His insides grew cold as he fumbled with the phone, trying desperately to answer it before he drew one or more of those nasty things to his location.
When he was finally able to press the "talk" button, he took a moment to breathe in, shaky, and out. He hadn't even checked to see who was calling before he answered it, but he sincerely doubted he'd be hearing from any telemarketers any time soon.
He wasn't surprised to hear Jayden's voice on the other end.
"I'm out. What's up? You good, man?" he answered, cradling the phone against his ear with his shoulder so he could use his hands to collect a few cans of ravioli. His voice was quiet, an attempt not to draw any more attention to himself. -
(lol i meant to say a computer not a newspaper in his hands xDDDD)
"Yeah, I'm fine," said Jayden, chuckling silently as he sipped on his coffee. "Uh, but, yeah, I just read this thing on the newspaper saying that uh-" before he put the phone on hold, fearing that Reggie will get worried. Jayden did not care and put the phone back on call. He just said "Yeah, I'm sorry, that was an internet problem but I just read the newspaper and it said" He paused to take a look at the newspaper. "that THERE IS A ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE AND IT WIPED OUT MILLIONS!!" he yelled swiftly and loudly, sounding pretty serious. "OK?" "Come home fast if you don't believe me. There is picture proof here," he added calming down after what sounded like a hundred breaths.
