"Yeah," George said, furrowing his eyebrows and turning to Clay. "Are you okay?"
-
“Yeah, I’m- I’m fine,” Clay replied with a quick nod, avoiding eye contact. “You want me to pay for all this? I don’t mind.”
-
"No, I can," George said, grabbing Clay's hand. "Are you sure? Clay you can tell me anything," The brunette said softly.
-
“Yeah, I’m fine,” Clay replied, looking over at George. “I- I’ll tell you later.”
-
George nodded, giving Clay's hand a reassuring squeeze before grabbing the handle of the cart again, starting to walk down to the cash register. They quickly checked out, George paying. He grabbed the few bags, starting to walk out after thanking the friendly workers.
-
Clay followed George out of the shop, exhaling. “You want me to carry some of the bags?” He asked, looking over at his boyfriend.
-
"I got it, thanks though," George said with a small smile, starting on the short walk to his apartment.
-
Clay nodded, continuing to walk by George’s side. He crossed his arms, zoning out and getting lost in his thoughts as he walked.
-
George glanced over to Clay, frowning slightly. "Do you wanna talk now, or wait till we get back?"
-
“Uh, maybe wait till we get back,” Clay responded, looking over at George for a moment. He looked ahead again, watching as a male with red hair walked past the two, chatting with someone on their phone. He tensed and moved closer to George, accidentally bumping into him. “Ah- sorry,” he said apologetically, smiling anxiously.

"Wait," George said furrowing his eyebrows as he studied the red-haired male as he walked ahead of them before it clicked. "Wait, are you getting triggered by him?" He asked quietly, gesturing to the red-head. -
"Wait," George said furrowing his eyebrows as he studied the red-haired male as he walked ahead of them before it clicked. "Wait, are you getting triggered by him?" He asked quietly, gesturing to the red-head.
“No, I- I just wasn’t paying- paying attention when he walks by,” Clay lied, looking down at the sidewalk as he walked, “so he just- caught me off guard.”
George nodded slowly, silently hoping Clay wasn't lying. He walked a little faster, quickly making it to his apartment and walking in, slipping his shoes off and heading into the kitchen with the bags.
Clay followed George into the house and slipped his shoes off, following him into the kitchen. “I can put the food up for you,” he offered, grabbing one of the bags and grabbing the food out of it.
"You can help if you want," George said with a small smile, grabbing the bag with all the bags with the gingerbread house kits in them, stacking them in the corner of the island, out of the way.
Clay nodded, starting to put the food away. He hummed quietly as he grabbed the empty bag, setting it to the side and grabbing another to unload.
George grabbed another bag, emptying it and putting it in another empty bag. He took all of the empty bags, combining them and throwing them away. "So," George said, looking over to Clay.
Clay looked over at George, shutting the fridge. “Yeah, uh- I’m- I’m fine, there’s- there’s nothing to talk about” he said with an awkward chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck. “I’m fine, don’t worry about me.”
"Clay," George said, frowning and walking over. He grabbed the younger male's hands, locking eyes with his boyfriend. "Are you telling the truth?"
Clay locked eyes with George, exhaling before looking away. ”No…” he muttered, his voice shaky,
"Then what is the truth?" George asked softly, squeezing Clay's hands gently.
“I- I don’t know how to say it, but it scared the living sh-t out of me,” Clay mumbled, letting one hand go of George’s hand and rubbing his eyes, getting rid of any tears that dared to appear. “I- I ran into a kid- he looked like-like him and it- it scared me..” He exhaled shakily, lowering his head.
George frowned, not needing much context to figure out who 'he' was. The brunette nodded slightly before wrapping his arms around Clay in a hug, embracing him reassuringly. "I bet that was scary. But you're so strong, Clay."
Clay let out a shaky breath as he hugged onto George, burying his face in the crook of his neck.
"I love you so much," George stated, rubbing his back slowly. "Thank you for telling me," He added, pressing a kiss onto Clay's head.
Clay lifted his head, wiping his eyes. “I love you too,” he replied with a small smile on his face, hugging George close.
"You wanna go sit down and watch something?" George asked with a smile, gently running a hand through Clay's hair.
Clay nodded, humming in agreement.
George nodded, smiling a grabbing Clay's hand, walking over to the couch. He grabbed the remote before sitting down, patting the spot next to him for Clay.
Clay smiled and walked over, sitting down beside George. He leaned against the brunette’s side, resting his head on his shoulder.
George pulled a blanket on top of the two of them, turning the TV on. "What'chu wanna watch?"
“Christmas movies,” Clay stated with a quiet chuckle, smiling.
"Okay," George chuckled, putting on Elf, one of the first Christmas movies that popped up. He wrapped his arms around Clay, putting the remote off to the side and placing his head atop the dirty blondes.
Clay hummed in content as he hugged onto George, watching the movie with a smile.
George chuckled at a joke in the movie, rubbing Clay's arm with his hand.
George chuckled, the credits starting. "That was good," The brunette stated, picking up his head and looking down at Clay.
Clay nodded, sitting up and letting go of George, stretching his arms. “Honestly, Elf has to be one of my favorite Christmas movies,“ he said with a quiet chuckle, running a hand through his hair.
"It is pretty good," George said with a shrug, chuckling.
“You just don’t know a masterpiece when you see one,” Clay said with a chuckle, leaning against George’s side and pressing a kiss on his cheek.
"No, there are just better ones," George said with a chuckle, wrapping an arm around Clay's shoulders.
“At least it’s better than most Hallmark Christmas movies,” Clay said with a chuckle, leaning close against George. “Honestly, they all have like, the same plot, but they’re entertaining to watch.”
"That's true," George said with a nod. "They're stupidly cheesy, too. But they are good movies from time to time,"
“True,” Clay added with a nod, resting his head on George’s shoulder. He hummed in content, curling closer to the brunette.
George smiled, pressing a kiss onto Clay's head. "Hey, we haven't heard from Sam much, wanna call her?" He asked, glancing around for his phone.
“Sure, yeah,” Clay replied with a nod, searching his pockets for a moment and pulling out his phone. He turned it on, calling up Sam. “Hey, bro,” Sam’s voice said from the other end of the call. “Hey, how’ve you- you and the guys been?” “Pretty good, Nick scared the living sh-t out of me when I came out of my room yesterday and won’t QUIT TEASING ME ABOUT IT,” she said, raising her voice as she spoke. Nick’s laughter rang in the background, earning an annoyed groan from Sam. “How’ve you two been?” “Uh, we’ve been good,“ Clay replied shortly.
"Yeah, I would say." George said with a nod, shrugging slightly. "Some girl at the supermarket today didn't realize I was gay, so she flirted with me for a little while," He said with a chuckle.
“It was kinda funny, seeing her reaction,” Clay said with a chuckle. “Really? Wow, that must’ve been awkward when she realized,” Sam said, giggling.
"Nah, not really. She just like, owned up to it and walked away," George said with a shrug, chuckling. "It was mostly awkward when Clay was shooting glares at her when she was just trying to help me find the fruit!" George exclaimed, shooting a playful glare at Clay.
“Listen-“ “Ooh, was Dweam jealous??” Sam teased, giggling. “Shut the hell up, its normal for people to get jealous when someone flirts with their partner,” Clay said with a chuckle, running a hand through his hair.
"And jealous you were," George said with a chuckle.
“Shut up,” Clay muttered, his face turning red as Sam continued to giggle in the background.
"I love you," George mumbled, chuckling as he pressed a kiss onto Clay's head. "Anyways, what have you guys been doin' in Florida?" George asked.
(this took way longer than it should've- ) -
Clay smiled, wrapping an arm around George and keeping the phone close to them. “Not much, really,” Sam replied, “I did get in some Christmas shopping, though, and Nick made some surprisingly good cookies.” “Hey! My cookies are always amazing!” Nick exclaimed in the background, making Clay chuckle.
George chuckled shaking his head playfully. "Are we gonna be back for Christmas?" George asked, looking over to Clay.
“Hopefully,” Clay replied, “not like we planned on staying here for that long.”
"That's true," George said, leaning against Clay and wrapping the blanket around his shoulders.
“That’s nice,” Sam said with a smile. “You guys know when you’ll be back?”
“Not sure but it’ll probably be after we stream with Tommy or Wilbur-“ “What? Man, I wanna bully Tommy on stream,” Sam pouted, earning a laugh from Clay.
"I can send a message across," George said, chuckling. -
Sam giggled, nodding. ”Well, I think I’m gonna go,“ she said. “I’ll talk to you two later.” “BYE!!” Nick shouted in the background, making Sam and Clay chuckle. “Nick says bye,” Sam added, giggling. “Bye Nick,” Clay said with a laugh. “Bye, Sam.” He then hung up, setting his phone down on the couch.
"Bye," George said with a smile, exhaling after Clay hung up. He leaned against the younger male, pressing a kiss onto his cheek.
