C1 is a kleptomaniac.
One day one of C1's friends suggests they go to a party that the friend was invited to together.
C1 steals something that seems worthless to them, but actually means a lot to C2, the host of the party.
Now C2 is angry at whoever stole the thing, not knowing who it was
C1 feels really guilty about stealing it and tries to return it without C2 noticing, but C2 catches them.
There could maybe be optional romance, I don't really care -

Evan walked around his house, chatting with people as he refilled snack bowls and putting out new drinks. He paused every once in a while, singing along to songs he enjoyed as they played. First party of the year and it would go off without a hitch. -
Asteria was sitting in alone in the corner. Her friend Alyssa had abandoned her to go somewhere with her extroverted friends. She was curled up in an armchair next to an end table.

Evan hummed to the songs that played, holding a can of coke in his hand. He glanced around, spotting a girl sitting down. He walked over, sitting in a chair close by. ``How're you enjoying the party?`` He asked, looking over to the girl.

Asteria looked up at the boy and just shrugged. She didn't really know how else to respond.

``Yeah, I feel that,`` he said with a quiet chuckle. ``Parties aren't always my favorite, but they're pretty fun when you're with the right people.`` He grabbed a bowl of chips off the end table, holding it out. ``Want some?``

Asteria shifted so that she was sitting upright, and took a handful. "Thanks," she said, that being the first word she had spoken to him.
