Jaime followed the line to get in at the zoo. He hadn't been there in a long time. But his reason for being there was that Mrs. Henderson had asked if she could put her son Charlie on his hands for the day. Basically babysitting.
The two of them were checked through, and the two of them went to the various sections the zoo contained.
They were at the gorillas when Jaime looked beside him and found that Charlie wasn't by his side anymore.
Jaime speed-walked through the winding halls of the building calling Charlie's name. The child couldn't have gone far, he had been next to him just a minute ago. -
I have some descriptions of some of my OCs on a quiz I took. Want me to link it so you can check out some of my OCs?

( please don't post it in here, put it in the other one please :3 )
Ophelia walked through the zoo, holding a younger boy with one arm and holding the hand of a younger girl in the other.
``Come on! I wanna see the otters!`` The young girl said, pulling her along.
``Relax, Linsey, we're going,`` she said with a short chuckle, continuing forward. -
The little blonde called Charlie ran up to a woman with colorful hair and bluish eyes holding two children. "Hi," he said with a little wave and a shy smile.
Jaime didn't see him anywhere in the gorilla section. Man that kid had to be fast.
He found himself outside walking the pathways that led to various exhibits.
Jaime froze when he rounded the corner. There was Charlie, but that wasn't what had drawn the most of his attention. The woman he was talking to...he knew her. He was still in love with her, in fact. He hadn't seen her in years.
But the last time they had seen each other had left Jaime feeling heartbroken. He had made a grave mistake and Ophelia never wanted to see him again because of it.
So he stood there frozen, unsure of what to do. -
Ophelia watched her younger sister run over to the otter exhibit for a moment before looking down at a blonde boy below her. ``Hello there,`` she said with a small smile, setting her younger brother down and holding his hand. ``Are you lost? Do you need me to find your parents?``
-
"I'm not lost," Charlie confidently said. "Mommy's somewhere with Daddy, I think they went out together for the day. Jaime's my babysitter but I don't think I need a babysitter because I'm a big boy and they don't worry about me not brushing my teeth and going to bed on time because I know to do those things because they always tell me to do it and I just do it because my brain tells me to and so I don't need a babysitter because I'm not a baby."
-
``Ah, so you're a big boy?`` She said with a slight chuckle.
``I'm a big boy!`` Her younger brother said, bouncing on his feet.
``Of course you are, Nick,`` she said with a small smile, looking down at her brother. She looked up, thinking about the name the blonde said.
Jamie.
It couldn't be him. Could it..? -
As Ophelia looked up from Charlie Jaime made eye contact with her.
Shoot.
Well now Jaime had to do something. So he started walking over to the small group. -
Ophelia watched him for a moment, her heart pounding. It is him she thought, looking back down at the young boy. ``Well uh, how about you go back to your brother?`` She said, picking her younger brother up again.
-
"He's not my brother, he's my babysitter," Charlie corrected her.
Jaime soon reached them. "Uhh, hey," he said, trying to figure out what to say. "Thanks for catching my runaway." -
``Ah, sorry little guy,`` Ophelia said with a light chuckle, nodding. She looked up at Jamie, meeting his eyes for a moment before looking away. ``It's fine. You should probably keep a better eye on him. Don't want him running off. Again.``
-
Charlie held out his hand to Jaime, which he took.
Jaime couldn't find himself able to meet his gaze. "I'm sorry," he said in a low voice. But it wasn't just what it seemed on the outside to to be, an apology for the inconvenience of a little kid getting curious. There was a deeper meaning to it. It was also for what he had done in the past. Jaime didn't know if Ophelia could tell that other meaning, but at least this time they were able to exchange a few words civilly. -
Ophelia watched him for a moment. She knew what he meant. Though she wasn't sure she could forgive him just yet.
``It's fine, just make sure you keep an eye on him,`` she said, playing it off. ``My little sister's like that.``
