"Stay away from me!" she said, taking another step back.

Brian slowly backed away as well, not wanting to freak Jacklyn out.
"I-I'm so sorry about what my father did!" He blurted out. -
"You just watched him do it. You didn't even try to stop him," Jacklyn said.

“I was too shocked to do anything."

"Do you promise not to hurt me?" Jacklyn asked quietly.

Brian nodded his head quickly. He took a few steps towards Jacklyn.

Jacklyn was slightly tense but she allowed him to approach her. She didn't trust him that much, but she knew she had to give him a chance to let him prove himself.

"How are you alive...?" Brian asked, his eyes sparkled with interest. There was a way to raise the dead? How useful.

"Scientists...I think it was an accident," Jacklyn mumbled.

"At least they know how to raise the dead now." Brian muttered.

Jacklyn nodded but didn't think that raising the dead to life was such a great thing.

"You can stay at my house if you want." Brian offered. "My dad isn't there anymore."

Jacklyn bit the edge of her bottom lip then slowly nodded.

"I must warn you, it may bring back some terrible memories.” Brian warned, looking at her with pity.

Jacklyn nodded in understanding. She had been killed there. But she didn't really have anywhere else to go and those scientists were after her
