"I will still give you time to think, cara," he said as he stood up straight. "Please consider. You would be so happy, nothing I care about nothing more than your happiness."
-
"If you care about my happiness then do me a favor and stop loving me." She snapped.
-
"Il mio cuore..." Nickola said softly, then turned around sadly and walked out of the bakery.
-
Emma smiled contently and waved. "Bye then!"
-
(time skip)
It was about 1 am when Nickola dialed Emma's number into his phone and hit the call button. He had a request. -
Emma groaned at the constant ringing of her phone. She had chosen to ignore it, but it eventually got on her nerves and she picked the phone up. "What is it?"
-
"Mia stella!" he said, sounding overjoyed that she had answered. "I have a request, listen per favore. There was a torta you gave me, I forget what it was called. Oh yes! Pioggia Di Perle Segrete! Secret Pearl Drizzle! Emma, I want to make an order of your Secret Pearl Drizzle. The one I had when I first met you, amore mio."
-
Emma sat up immediately when she heard his voice. "How did you know when my number was?"
-
Nickola didn't answer the question, instead he said, "I will send someone to pick you up to have you drop it off at ten tomorrow morning."
-
"And if I refuse?"
-
"You will not," Nickola said. Then in a slighly different tone of voice, "You sound so cute when you're sleepy." And with that he hung up.
-
Emma froze with the phone still in her hand. Eventually she snapped back to reality and went to the kitchen. Making the Secret Pearl Drizzle took a long time to make and would need to be cooked with care.
-
(9 hours to make?!)
Nickola tapped his fingers on the desk in thought. In reality it wasn't for the cake, it was for her. Of course he would return her home safely. But he wanted to see her again. -
Yep, the best dishes are the ones that take longest to make. ÚwÙ)
Emma got straight to cooking. The batter alone took 50 minutes to set, and in that time she needed to make the sugary glaze that would go over the cake. -
(Does she live with anyone?)
At ten o'clock sharp a sleek black car drove up.
