Renee’s eyes widened slightly. “Yeah, we dated when we were younger.” She said softly.

Aiden's eyes widened and he smiled, locking eyes with the girl. ``Kat, it's me, Aiden,`` he said, putting his phone in his pocket.

Renee smiled shyly at Aiden. “A, it’s good to see you again!” She said. But she flinched at her old name. “And it- it’s Renee now. You recognize me?”

``Yeah, of course I do,`` Aiden said with a bright smile. ``I mean, it'd be hard for me not to forget your face.`` He paused, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose. ``Wait, what do you mean you go be Renee?``

Renee kept her shy smile and responded. “Yeah, I didn’t forget yours either. And...” she paused, looking down. “I changed my name and hair and whatnot. I needed to get away. To start over after my family... my family...” Renee mumbled the word ‘died’ quieter than the rest of her words.

Aiden inhaled and nodded, awkwardly looking down at the ground. ``Got it,`` he said, running a hand through his hair. ``I mean, I certainly like the new look. Especially the hair,`` he added, chuckling quietly.

Renee nodded. “Thanks,” she said. Then she looked at her phone. “Crap, class is starting!” She exclaimed.

``Oh, you're in school?`` Aiden asked, shifting his weight from one foot to another.

Nodding, Renee said, “Yeah, why else would I be here?” Chuckling, she then quickly grabbed Aiden’s hand and tugged him toward the classroom. “Come on, we’re gonna be late!”

``F--k, slow down!`` Aiden exclaimed, following her.

Renee giggled and slowed down a bit but not much, her hand drill lightly clutching Aiden’s wrist. “We’re almost there!”

Aiden chuckled, now walking at the same speed as Renee. ``So, when'd you move here?`` He asked, looking over to her.

“Just about a week ago, and I love it here,” Renee said while jogging down the empty halls.

``Ah, cool,`` Aiden repiled, continuing to follow Renee.

“Phew, we made it,” Renee said as she halted by the white door that led to their classroom. She opened it quietly and gestured for Aiden to every before her with a small smile.
