They can communicate. Snakes eat cats but maybe don't do that))

"Why did you attack me?" Toxinscale would have tilted his head if he could. "I made no attempt to kill you."

"You are a snake. I am a cat." She said simply, baring her teeth.

"That doesn’t mean anything," Toxinscale said curtly. "It doesn’t mean a single thing." His black eyes gleamed.

"We are mortal enemies. So either I die or you die. I choose you." And with that, she leaped at him, teeth bared and claws out.

Toxinscale just ignored the cat and started slithering away again. His dark eyes masked his thoughts. -
She hissed, and stalked away, deciding she would hunt. She found a mouse and killed it.

Toxinscale found a dead bird on the ground and didn’t hesitate to swallow it whole. Really, it was quite disgusting, how he devoured the bird so readily.

Dapple stalked through the trees, and found a small black snake. A baby. She killed it and left its dead body behind.

Toxinscale knew their long-standing rivalry was not about to end. History could not be erased so quickly. Cats and snakes were enemies.

Pawstance walked up to Dapple. "Hey, Dapple," they greeted Dapple nonchalantly. "How's it going?"

"Fine. Walk your paths carefully. There is a snake lurking. A strong one." She responded.

"A snake?" Pawstance laughed childishly. "I can defeat any snake." He tried to flex but ended up falling over. "Well, not any," he conceded. After all, he was still a mere kitten.
Toxinscale coiled up right next to a tree. He was quite amused by the cat from earlier. I do not wish for war, he thought.
