Buffy stepped out of her car and walked over to the two people standing at the gate. She put her phone and small notebook into her pocket and nodded towards Elise.

"I was just waiting for you two," Elise said, nervously fiddling with a loose string on her shirt. "No one is here. Please come inside."

She nodded a hello to Buffy then followed Elise into the house.

Buffy followed the other detective and the daughter of the victim inside, opening up the notebook to a new page.

Elise seemed to be a rather nervous woman, for her actions were anxious and energetic and she jumped at the slightest sound. The murder must have gotten to her nerves.
"Would you two like anything?" she said with a hospitable smile. "Tea? Coffee?"
