Rayne stared blankly at the cold white wall, which stared blankly back. She should be grateful for some alone time to think things through. But the silence seemed to sting more than the noise.
She clenched her fists, distressed. She would be going home, back to the people she loved. Her past life had seemed fantastical, too good to be true when she was in such a mess. But that was all it was to her now: a fantasy, a story about someone luckier than she.
