Umber floated into a cave. One that had yet to be claimed. She would have to ask permission to claim it, though.

Moral wrapped his hands around the other half of the orb and they disappeared. He opened his eyes, looking around. "Where are we?" he said.

Samantha opens her eyes and she sees a baby, a mom and a dad. “It’s me as a baby.” She says, smiling sadly. “When my family was happy...”

Moral had a saucy comment to say about babies, but kept it to himself for the time being. "You were small," Moral said. "Is that why your family was unhappy with you?"

Samatha shakes her head. “They weren’t unhappy with me, they were unhappy with each other.”

The scene shifted, showing the future when Samantha was a small child. Moral watched patiently.

Samatha’s smile falls. “This is when the fighting started. I...didn’t understand at that age, being so young.” She says to herself.

Moral hesitantly made a movement as if to touch her shoulder reassuringly, then flinched away. "I see," he said, watching the scene.
