"Maybe!" Charlotte said from the bottom of the pile, feeling her back and then her legs. "Maybe not!"
-
Daniel weakly said "I think so. I'm just gonna lay here though."
-
(you guys are posting too much before I get time to post)
Weston wanted to stay in the vortex, thus he was the last one out, but fell out, and landed on the ground with a big thump. He stood up. "What in the world was that?" he asked. -
Charlotte lifted up a book. "Can we read these?"
-
Doel couldn't reply... All that came out was a weak groan as she felt her rib pulsing with pain.
-
Having not gotten an answer, Weston, looked to where the vortex had been. There was nothing there. They were stuck here, wherever here was.
-
"Wh-where--..." She was cut off by her awe. So many books! Was this heaven!? Her draw dropped open as she continued to stare through shimmering eyes.
-
“No dummy, this isn’t book-world.” Madison sighed, sliding down the pile carefully, landing on her feet and looking around. A yellow road wound its way near them, sloping gentle hills rolling around them.
-
"Who cares!" She excitedly leaped up, ignoring the pain swelling in her side. "Wow! They have all my favorite books!" She immediately grabbed one of her favorite books, flipping through the dusty pages.
-
"It sure looks like it to me," Charlotte said in awe, lifting up a book before letting it drop. "But how do we get back home?"
-
Kymara slowly blinked open her blue eyes, her head pounding. "Ohh," she let a gasp escape her. She winced and rubbed her head and felt a bump.
She squinted her eyes at the people gathered on the pile of...books? She sat up and saw a metal basket beside her. She pondered its existence for a split second before she narrowed her eyes, remembering how she blacked out.
She growled and picked up the basket, raised it over her head and behind her shoulder, then sent it spinning through the air, landing and sliding across a yellow brick road. -
(Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?)
"I don't really see what the importance of a pile of books is," Weston said. "Shouldn't we be figuring out a way to get back?" -
“I know that road! It’s from the Wizard of Oz! I read a picture book about it in third grade!” Madison grinned happily as she bounced a bit and started to make her way towards the winding road.
-
(I think so Brain, but a game where you live in a village full of walking, talking animals and pay loans to a racoon? Ha, that'll never catch on.)
Daniel finally stood up and said "Okay, I got my second wind. But what I want to know is how did we get here and why?" He then looked at Madison and said "Hey, where are you going?" -
"And I read the original in third," Weston muttered. Then when Daniel spoke, he said, "Yeah, we should stay here and figure things out."
