It was a strange job. He had to find a commoner. A commoner? He wasn't used to that kind of a job. But money was money, so he did it anyway.
-
Toka shot a beam of magic at the girl who had started yelling. It wasn't deadly, it just made you unearthly tired. Then the mononoke force went all out on the attack, soon enough bodies littered the street. "Only five prisoners today if you include the girl!" Toka shouted at his lieutenants. "This is how all town capturing should be!" Toka continued.
-
Kaila felt a strange feeling wash around her, and she suddenly felt exhausted. She fell to the ground, fast asleep and unaware of the slaughter of her people.
-
Nathaniel had a strange feeling in the pit of his stomach that getting this girl wasn't going to be very easy. He still had a long ways to go until he hit the town she was in.
-
Toka slung the sleeping girl over his shoulder and his generals gathered up the other prisoners of war. Then they marched out leaving mononoke in the ruined town. Toka decided that he would explain the whole situation to the prisoners tomorrow.
-
Nathaniel hadn't taken nearly as long to find where this girl was. The man who had hired him had even given him the town she lived in. He wondered why he didn't just go himself, but then he'd be out of a job.
-
Kaila had a horrible nightmare and twitched a good deal.
-
Toka set the imprisoned girl down just as she started twitching. He noticed she had a scratch on her arm. 'I'll have Doctors check it out later.' Toka thought before leaving the prison cell he set her in.
-
A few hours later he finally arrived at the town, only to find it in ruins. It had happened recently too. Probably even that day. The Yokai had probably attacked the town. He sighed from the new obstacle in his path and followed the trampled earth left by the attacking force.
-
Kaila jerked awake, hyperventilating. She looked around the strange cell. What was going on? She felt like crying, but she couldn't show any weakness. Not here.
-
Toka had much too much work to do. He truged to his office and started his long fifty page report of the capture of the village.
-
Now he had to figure out if this girl was dead or not. And if she was, was he going to politely ask to have one of their hostages, pretty please? Not likely.
-
"Hello?" Kaila called out. "Hellooo? Can somebody explain why I'm here?"
