Angel whispered lightly, “M-my name is Angel, yes.. or at least, I believe it is,” her voice was airy-like and every word she spoke sounded so soft, so... angelic. Her eyes were almost piercing through the boys’ souls. Her stare was... unreal.
-
"I know her alright, she was my imaginary friend from when I was little." Norman said. Norman was baffled. He wondered what happened to make his imaginary friend appear. He wondered if he was the imaginary one. All this thinking hurt his head so he just went back to being shocked.
-
"Imaginary? Dude, she's not imaginary if I can see her too..." Vinz trails off and his expression changes from disbelief to smug. "Oh damn, looks like my best friend had more game than I realized. You had a girlfriend when you were little and thought she was imaginary the whole time," Vinz nods, like he'd just found the cure to cancer.
-
Angel’s cheeks grew warm as she listened to the discussion between the two humans. She held her wings back, further against her spine. It was comforting having them more concealed, even if they were still extremely noticeable. Angel was too naive, too innocent to realize any of this.
-
"It wasn't like that, she was confirmed imaginary because none of the other kids I ran into inside the forest could see her, plus she could fly in my memory." Norman said thinking about all the crazy things he did as a child with what he remembered as an imaginary friend to back him up.
-
"If that the case.." Vinz gave Angel a once over, noticing her moving her wings around. He sucks in a breath. "Okay. So those are real. And she's real. This is real. A literal angel.." Vinz scratches his head, as if that'd help make this revelation any easier to digest. "Can you fly?" He asks her.
-
Angel glanced behind her, then looked back at the two humans. She shook her head from left to right, then spread her wings, which were obviously damaged. Her right wing couldn’t even make its way. Angel winced in pain and let out a soft, “mm,” as she hid her wings once again.
-
"yikes, that looks painful." Norman said after seeing Angel's wings. Norman wondered what happened, and after thinking of several Terrible reasons why they got damaged he decided to come to the conclusion that she crashed.
-
"Do you uh.. need help? I dunno how to fix angel wings, but I fixed up a broken bird wing once," Vinz offers. He takes off his hoodie and hands it to her. "If we head back to my place though, you gotta cover those up," Vinz says, referring to her wings.
-
Angel nodded and slipped her head into the hoodie, but it soon became stuck on one of her wings and she continued to wince. She wasn’t the brightest of angels, and she wasn’t exactly sure of what she was doing. Angel blushed nervously, but with a sad look in her eyes.
-
-
Norman watched wondering what he could do to help. He was never the person that knew what to do, but he hated doing nothing. Norman just kept watch to make sure no one saw Angel's wings.
-
Vinz saw Angel struggling and decided to try and help her out. He walked up hesitantly, still a bit skeptical. "Tuck that under here," Vinz instructed, referring to the wing that was blocking her from getting the hoodie all the way on. He gently pushed down on the wing, not wanting to cause more damage. It felt... real. Powerful. Warm. Feathery. His remaining skepticism vanished.
