Aiden put the phone away, sighing. Suddenly, he heard a rustling noise nearby. He felt a thrill of horror as someone approached him. Belladonna was there.
"I just came to visit you," she said. He relaxed.
"I was worried for a moment," he said.
"Aiden, I want you to join me," she said.
"What?" Aiden said confusedly.
"Wester knows what he's doing. If he wanted to kill you, he'd have shot you in the head. He wasn't sure about you," Belladonna said. "You won't be stuck with that girl anymore. You'll have me."
"Listen closely," Aiden said coldly. "I love Mikan, and I am NOT going to join sides with an evil psychopath."
"Have it your way," Belladonna said icily, drawing out a knife.
He tried to fight back, but weakened by the previous gunfire, he was overpowered by her.
He felt a sharp pain in his neck and gasped for breath. Then everything went black and the heart monitor flatlined. Belladonna walked away.
"I'm sorry, Aiden. But if I can't have you," she laughed cruelly. "No one will!"
(Alternate universe where Belladonna is turned to the bad side after a traumatic youth and joins sides with Wester.) -

Mikan hung up the phone and slept peacefully knowing that Aiden was safe.
The next morning was filled with dread when she saw the news at work, Aiden maltrax was stabbed by an unknown individual. Mikan went into a depressive and defensive state yelling about how god was unfair. One day she got so depressed and fed up she tried to commit suicide, but instead of dying when she jumped... She walked on air, suddenly a door appeared in front of her, she opened it and was met with a pink haired woman. "Would you like to be a goddess?" The woman asked. Mikan nodded her head and just like that she became the goddess of realm 1 the realm of mourning and loss -

So has everyone in her realm suffered some sort of loss?))

(basically it's where people go when they die like circles of hell or trials, possibly where they recouperate from those things and Live in a world where they'll least suffer those things because the rulers Know that stuff so well.)

That may mean that Mikan found Aiden again!))

(that would be even more painful for her because the rulers of this world aren't allowed to interact with their subjects, especially if they knew them in a past life)

Mikan got a call from the hospital the next day and rushed over. she ran past all kinds of people and never noticed the crosswalk. She ran over one road, never seeing the car coming till she turned her head, and never expecting the coma afterwards or having to look at Aiden blatantly lying to his face saying "don't worry, I won't die I'll see you later." And having to smile as he walked away before the internal damage killed off her last breath. The last thing she said was I love you in the ancient northern language, sending it to Aiden with her last bits of imagination.

When Aiden was told about her death, he fell to the floor, choked with sorrow and pain. She was gone. Gone forever. He didn't eat or sleep for days, and only got up to take care of the animals.
He considered suicide, loaded the gun and put it against his head. Then he threw it away in disgust. He would live for her. He would love for her. He would work to make the world a better place because the best thing in the world was now gone.
With the little energy he had, he ate and went to bed, sobbing harshly.
