Tiny info for those who don't know what Soulmate and Soulmarks mean)
What is a Soulmate?
A soulmate is someone that just gets you. It's a connection of minds, a mutual respect, an unconditional love and a total understanding. It's about being yourself and knowing, not only that person is following and understanding your thoughts, but is right there with you, side by side. Once finding a Soulmate,A soulmark will appear on your skin,a sign that the two of you are bonded as one.
What is a Soulmark?
Soulmate Marks, also called Soulmarks, developed as a subtrope of Soulmates, commonly referred to as Soulmates AU. It takes the idea of people who are fated to be together further, imagining there is physical proof to identify this connection.
It's not everyday that when you're first born,To immediately have that special Soulmark,tattooed onto your skin. But it may come in time where you,a young soul has a strong determination to find your missing puzzle piece. However,finding your piece is quite tricky and takes a lot of will power and patience to be able to find them.
To be parabarti(Soulmates) does not mean that they are merely best of friends. It is something much more that that. In being parabarti, you have promised to fight alongside that person. To lay down you life for the other. To travel where the other travels, and to be buried in the same place. The promise to travel everywhere with your parabarti does not mean that one person can't go to the deli while the other stays home or go grocery shopping. But when you to are miles and miles apart, you will feel a pull in you heart, like a cord that is pulling to towards your parabarti(Soulmate). Sometimes the pull is agonizing. The parabarti allows them to draw on each other's strength. They are able to feel the other's life force. You have doubled strength. When your parabarti dies, you feel their life leaving their body, and it feels like the cord that has snapped. Sometimes the person who's parabarti has died have gone mad with grief.(Credit goes to dragon btw.)
Having someone to forever stay by your side,To protect you and vice versa at all costs is a very good thing. You will stay soulmates up to the day you first meet,To the day you both die. Then the cycle starts over again.
Ritual for the bond:
Most people never find their parabarti. but when you do, there is a ritual you must go through to strengthen the bond between them, otherwise it will be lost. Here's how the ritual goes:
They must stand before each other, each take some of their own blood, then write the parabarti rune on the other person's arm with their own blood. The blood will dissolve into their skin, leaving the Sould mark, black. While they're doing it, they must say the Oath of the Parabarti.
The oath:
Whither thou goest, I will go;
Where thou diest, I will die, and there will I be buried:
The Angel do so to me, and more also, if aught but death part thee and me.
And, basically all of you go to the same high school (If someone would like to provide a name for the high school, that'd be great.), and are all trying to find you parabarti/soulmate.
