Lily looked up at Silas, confused. "what do you mean?" she asked.

"I have to apologise for burning down my school." Silas said.

Lily's eyes widened. "did you do it on purpose?" she asked, shocked by what he had said.

Moss looked uncomfortable.

Lily looked over at Moss and patted her shoulder (wait can she pat you, just wondering) "So that explains how you burned to death." Lily said staring up at Silas with her eyes wide.

"I didn't burn it down on purpose, I was messing around in the science room when I accidentally dropped my dad's lighter. I shouldn't have even had it at school but my dad had died just a year before, and while I picked it up I accidentally caught my shoe on fire." Silas said.

"I'm sorry that your dad had died, but why did you bring the lighter to school? and please do not yell at me." she said staring hard cold at Silas with a begging look in her eyes.

"I brought it because it was all I had left of him. He died in an oilfield accident." Silas said.

Lily looked down. "it tustve been nice having at least someone to look after you before he died." she sniffed slightly, remembering things she didn't want to.

Moss looked between Silas and Lily, almost feeling the strings of empathy she had for them. -
"but forget about me, we need to help Moss and Silas do what they need to. They deserve it." she said, straightening up and looking at the two.

Moss blushed.

Lily smiled and hugged Moss tightly. She never was one for physical contact with others, but Moss was her friend now, and friends love one another.

Moss hesitated only briefly before returning the hug.
