Okay, how about: We're on a quest to save our city. The town we lived in is powered by magical crystals, but someone has stolen them and scattered them throughout the world. We take it upon ourselves to find them and defeat the enemy that stole them in the first place.
I can go more into detail about each crystal and what they do it you approve -

Red crystal: This crystal is centered around emotion. Without out, the townspeople begin to lose hope and become depressed
Orange crystal: This crystal is centered around raw energy and electricity, without, the town won't have light or technology
Yellow crystal: This crystal is centered around weather and sunshine. Without it, gray clouds and heavy rainfall will ensue
Green crystal: This crystal is centered around nature. Without it, crops and animals begin to die or get sick
Blue crystal: This crystal is centered around water. Without it, the lakes will start to dry up
Purple crystal: This crystal is centered around magic, without it, all of the healers and witches in the town will slowly start to have their powers drained away
