"But we're not strangers. We're kids, just like you. We live in the woods. So we dont really have any friends. That's all we want." Candi pouted. "C'mon guys...let's just go. We aren't good enough it seems." Candi started to walk away with her head down.

"Who needs new friends anyway? I guess we'll never see what it's like to play hopscotch or tag or hide and seek!" Taffy says, following after Candi. Laffy even manages to have a whole fake tear run down his face. "Too bad, guess we'll go find someone else!" He says.

Megan bites her lip. “...I guess I can play for a little while.” She calls to them. She’s still not sure about this but she hasn’t had anyone who wanted to play with her in years.

Candi's face immediately lights up. "Really? You really want to play with us?" She smiles. "Alright, we'll show you our secret place, follow me!" Candi leads her deeper into the woods, near the portal.

Taffy skips along as they go to the portal. This was almost too easy! She smiles at her brother. Laffy stays near the back of the group, to lowkey make sure that the girl didn't change her mind. "I'm Laffy," he offers as they walk along. "I'm Taffy!" Taffy says, remembering that they didn't introduce themselves.

“ Megan.” She says simply. She was still terrified of this.she wasn’t too sure what wasn’t happening and it was worrisome.

"Megan? That's a pretty name!" Candi smiled as she skipped along. She entered the portal, as if she was doing something totally normal. She didn't even acknowledge the portal.

"After you, mi'lady," Laffy offers when they reach the portal. To show how harmless it was, his sister Taffy did a spin and pranced into the portal like it was the funnest thing in the world, giggling as she did so.

Megan looked alarmed. “ that’s...not normal.” She said and started to back away from the portal in fear. It didn’t look normal and it felt...weird to her,

Candi looked outside the portal. "Huh? This has always been here. You just have to summon it, otherwise it is like an invisible locked door. We've lived in these woods our whole life."

When Megan begins to back away, she bumps into Lance. "We're already this close," he says darkly, giving a knowing look at Candi. "Should we just.." he trails off. He then gives Megan a smile, trying to calm her down. "Should we just wait a few more minutes, then? Don't wanna do anything that makes you uncomfortable, friend."

Megan nodded. “...I guess...it’s just. Portals in the woods don’t often lead to good things..I mean we’re hardly in the pine barrens but still.”

Candi turned her head in confusion. "I have gone into this portal multiple times, and I'm still fine." She giggled. -
"Besides, how would you know whether or not this portal could lead to something bad? Have you ever been through one?" Laffy asks. Taffy peeks her head through from the portal, looking at the trio. "The longer we wait, the less time we'll have to have fun!" She says, tapping an imaginary watch on her wrist.

( a cryptid f---er is someone obsessed with cryptids/ sometimes yeah would totally f--- a cryptid. Usually specifically mothman.)
Megan bites her lip before she stands up. “...alright I’ll go through the portal then.” She says hesitantly. She doesn’t look super convinced, that this is at all a good idea.
