August Dimenichi Newbie"I'm not to pleased about the arrangement either, but considering this is the king we're discussing, I don't believe I have a choice." Hohenheim said; his voice was cold, but not too sharp. He outstretched a hand stiffly. "I'm Hohenheim Margrove, of the Margrove family." He was sure that with his status as a noble, Aristotle had heard of him. He waited patiently for the other to shake his hand, so at the very least he could say he met with the prince.
-
August Dimenichi Newbie*He didn't want to be considered incompetent or lazy, gods forbid. Besides, the sooner he got finished with the prince the sooner he could get back to his routine.
sorry it's short I was pressed for time)) -
Ari paused and looked over at him, "Ah, I see. You're the son of my uncle's friend." When he saw the males hand he narrowed his eyes slightly ar the hand. Athena growled loudly from the other side of the bush and then barked loudly and harshly. He was debating on telling her to stop but chose against it. When she got a little more aggressive Ari whistled loudly and she stopped.
-
August Dimenichi NewbieHohenheim flinched at the dog's barks and hesitated before retracting his hand. That wasn't right. That was wrong. He was supposed to shake hands with him. That's how that works.
He takes a breath. "Listen, your father asked me to do this, so either we part ways and both get in trouble, or I can accompany you around the castle for a little - without talking, if you would like - and appear to be on speaking terms, at least?" he said, desperate for a compromise. He didn't want to disobey his father or the king, he didn't want to betray his routines, he didn't want this, and he wasn't sure what was happening. -
Ari crossed his arms and thought about it for a bit. He supposed he had a point, but he wasn't sure how he felt about Hohenheim, he seemed very stiff. He was all too serious, and that made him very anxious. He wasn't comfortable with this.
He felt himself sigh and relax his stance a bit. Then whistled sharply and loudly. The dogs came out from their spot and Ari started walking down the path, "Let's go then." He mumbled but didn't stop and wait. -
August Dimenichi NewbieHohenheim took off after him and fell into step besides Aristotle. Okay, this was better. Order was slightly restored, and he felt less agitated from it.
In all honesty, he knew that there'd be more than just walking around. Maybe if he got used to Aristotle he'd be able to do what the king asked him to. The prince did seem to be lacking basic royal dignities - such as shaking hands. That still rubbed Hohenheim the wrong way. He was supposed to be a prince. Proper, prim, charming. -
Ares walked in front of the pair and soon after Athena crept up behind him and jumped on him. They started growling and snapping at each other in their little play fighting. Ari rolled his eyes and watched them, Apollo walked a little behind them taking his time and getting distracted every once in a while, Artemis walked beside Ari calmly. He relaxed his stance and pulled his hair over one of his shoulders.
He looked over at Hohenheim, "You think I'm not fit to be royalty don't you." He stated not making it a question like it should have been. "Don't worry. You're right." He stated with a small chuckle. -
August Dimenichi NewbieHohenheim kept walking. He thought about it for a minute. Aristotle was right - he wasn't fit to be royalty. But maybe he could fix that. That was his job, wasn't it?
"Correct." he said bluntly. "But I believe you can be taught properly, if willing. And I assume you aren't willing. It will just get more difficult however. You are a prince now, no doubt about it, I suppose." he said, hoping the words he used were correct for the situation. He watched the dogs warily. -
Ari snorted softly, he didn't find that very convincing. He was sure that the male did not actually believe that but was just biting his tongue. He was also sure that he was only here because of Ari's uncle and Hohenheim's father. He stopped walking before they reached the door to go inside, he took a small breath and was going to say something but just shook his head and decided against it.
The dogs looked at him, obviously confused by his sudden stop. Athena walked back to him, knowing they weren't allowed to fight inside and she did not hide her disappointment. "Don't be so afraid of the dogs." He said slightly more aggressive than he had ever thought it be, "They won't kill you." he walked into the building. -
August Dimenichi Newbie"I wouldn't be so certain." Hohenheim mumbled. Dogs were confusing and unpredictable. He stood a little straighter once they were inside, trying to be proper, whatever that meant to him. "I've never been a... fan, of dogs." The common word felt weird on his tongue but he couldn't think of another to use in it's place.
