The distant future is here, but it's not what people were hoping for. With ever increasing connectivity, diseases quickly spread and evolve faster than medicine can be developed to cure, and worse yet, with the use of cybernetic implants to make human bodies flawless being as common as it is, almost universal in fact, a rise in hacking people's bodies has been seen. No one can be totally trusted, even if they are genuine. All it takes is for one weakness in their defenses, and your life-ling friend turns on you, no matter how much they wouldn't want to. Colonies have been set up on other planets, but all have failed miserably, and continued industrialization of the world has led to the environment only being damaged more, sea levels have risen, droughts are all too common and the world is broken after the collapse of the oil industry when the last drop was burned.
C1 is the last of their kind, a normal human with no implants. All their life, everyone has called them crazy, "the future is perfection" they would say, "But you're not perfect", "You'll die one day, you know." they would tease, "We won't. We will never die, or if we do it won't be early." C1 doesn't like this mentality, but it has become the norm.
C2 has seen how C1 has been treated, watched it from afar. They do have implants, but they understand why someone why wouldn't want them, and they dislike the overall superiority attitude most of the One's (humans heavily augmented with implants) have over normal humans. They finally decide to help the human, even if it means leaving everything behind.
What will happen to these two in this dangerous future? Will something great blossom only for it to be broken, or will they persist in their search for something new and better?
I don't mind being C1 or C2.
Also, I don't mind romance and whatnot as long as it's natural to the story and it's MxF (That about all I know and am comfortable with) but I also don't mind the lack of such, it should fit the story.
Anyway, it's been awhile since I did a roleplay/soap here but I know my skills have only grown, so I hope I'm not too horrible at this point.
We'll do character sheets once we decide who gets what character (I think that's the normal procedure, but just in case I wanted to state why I didn't include character-specific details here) -
