In the legends of the island of Eira dragons had always flown around the island, in peace with the humans. That was until the sons of the village chef had a fight, the oldest brother was set to be the leader but the younger brother thought he deserved the honor more, this lead to the younger brother creating traps and ways to harm his brother reputation so he could claim the spot as chief, when he grew tired of this he planned to kill his brother to get him out of the way. He failed but not before showing that his brother was a shifter, a dragon like some of the other village members and they were all exiled from the village. The dragons moved into the Astra tunnels that are under the surface of the island and from then on the dragons attacked the village, in hate and spite from being ripped apart from their families and friends. The people on the island have long forgotten this tale but the dragons have not and while the fight still rages on the dragons only attack at night, burning houses and collecting food since they can't grow food underground or keep livestock, they do not kill for sport, not any more.
C1 is the only child of the current village chef, they are frail and weak unlike the other teenagers who are in training to be dragon hunters. They have a fascination with dragons and are always trying to catch one to prove to their father that they can be an excellent Viking like the other and kill dragons. One night the dragons attack the village and C1 trys to catch one and while they manage to injure one in some sort of way it doesn't come near the village and no one believes them because the kind that C1 says they've hurt is only in the textbooks, never seen, and they've created a horrible mess, their father yells at them, embarrasses them and sends them home. The next day they do wondering in the forest for fun and to see if they can find the dragon they hurt but instead they find C2, a human, injured, crying and alone but a person they've never seen before.
C2 is an orphan, a dragon that was stranded on the island as a child and taken into the underground tunnels. They were treated like family, for a while, their rare thought to be extinct species made them special the the village wanted them around but that couldn't save them forever. C2 was rabid, in a sense, would never listen, made a mess and could never bond with the other dragons and them themselves was more like a dragon then a human and eventually the chief had had enough and he kicked C2 out of the village. At night when the dragons attacked the village they left or tried, they got shot down and injured, some huge injuries were done to their dragon for but some bad ones were done to their human form as well.
When C1 finds C2 they don't know that to do and against their better judgement they decide to help C2 instead of killing them or leaving them for dead. C1 starts trying to help C2, teach them how to be more human like, help them fly ect. but for how long can C1 keep the secret from their father? How will they beagle to deal with the feud? What will happen when new enemy's arise?
