Camila smiled, "By the way, where's your dad? I haven't seen him around. Did he travel too?" She asked, turning to face him, sitting with her legs crossed on the couch.
-
Peter sighed, wondering what to say. Should he tell her a lie based off of the truth, that his father died in a fire he started? Should he tell her the half truth, that his father was arrested for starting the fire that killed his girlfriend? Or... Should he tell the entire truth? All of these were bad ideas... However if he told her a complete lie it would catch up to him eventually... "It's... It's a long story..." Peter sighed. "I know the story if you want to ask me." Joey offered from the kitchen, causing Peter to mutter a curse under his breath.
-
Camila stared at Peter for a while, tilting her head. Before answering Joey, "Yeah sure. Come over and tell me."
-
(Sorry. I was eating lunch.)
Joey came over and sat down in the one person chair like a grandfather. Peter sighed and gave him a warning look, but Joey did not care. "Gather around, children. Let me tell you about the fire that scorched this land two years ago..." Joey began. -
Camila was really excited to hear the story now.
-
She tucked her hair behind her ears and was ready to listen.
-
"Joey, please-" Peter began, only to be cut off. "Silence young one. You'll spoil the story." Joey chuckled. "Our story begins with a foolish young sixteen year old with a kind heart that had no interest in girl's advances. In fact, many rumoured that he was gay. However, eventually the young man did find love. A new girl at school, with hazel eyes and very short red hair. He was so much in love that he did everything for this girl. He even chose her over his friends when she started being rude to them. Ah yes, it was truly a beautiful love he had for her. His passion for her sang like a nighting gale, and burned a fire as beautiful as her firey hair. The irony that follows is astounding, when it turns out she wasn't as devoted to him as he was to her." Joey told Camila, clearly good at telling this story. "We'll leave that for a cliff hanger. I'll tell the rest after Peter here calms down a bit." Joey told her with a smirk, seeing that Peter was fighting his fear and frustration in an embarassed manour.
-
Camila looked at Peter, he obviously didn't like that Joey was telling this story, "Um, Joey you can stop now. Peter isn't comfortable with this." She told Joey. On the inside, she wanted to hear more. But she didn't want Peter to get angry.
-
"Okay. We'll talk later if you want to hear more." Joey replied, leaving the living room. "Why are you doing this Joey?" Peter asked. "I like the attention." Joey replied. "Even if I do stop trying to tell her... The curiosity will eat at her until she begins to over think." Joey added. "I... also know that you fell for this one." Joey sighed, getting serious. "What happens if she breaks your heart too? Who will take the fall for it then?" Joey asked, admitting his fears. Peter stayed silent, understanding his brother's fears. "Either break her heart first, or make sure she knows what she's dealing with. If you don't, I'll scare her off. I don't want you to break your heart again... Even though I think this one's great, you just got back from your heart break. Another would be too much." Joey lectured. "Maybe she's different..." Peter began. "I'm sure she's assuring herself the same about you. And are you?" Joey asked. Peter gave no response. "Exactly." Joey sighed before walking upstairs.
-
Camila stood up to grab herself some water as the two brothers left. As she was about to enter the kitchen, she noticefghe boys were still in the hallway. So she leaned by the doorway and listened. She knew it wasn't right, but she was really curious now.
"What happens if she breaks your heart too? Who will take the fall for it then?" Joey asked, admitting his fears. Peter stayed silent, understanding his brother's fears. "I'm sure she's assuring herself the same about you. And are you?"
Camila scurried to the sink, before she would get caught. She stood there, everything Joey said replaying in her head. -
Peter sighed as he returned to the living room. Was... Joey right? Of course he was... However... Peter didn't want to admit it. He was about to say something, but noticed Camila was no longer in the room. "God help me..." He sighed. "No... I don't deserve God's help..." He muttered, sitting on the couch.
-
Camila grabbed the water from the fridge and gulped down a huge amount. She was breathing like she had been holding her breath for a very long time.
-
(Sorry... My sister in law and brother came over and I got stuck in the kitchen with their conversation.)
Peter got up and decided to look for Camila. He found her in the kitchen, breathing heavily. She was certainly beautiful... "I... I think we should talk..." Peter sighed, looking at the ground nervously. -
"I'm sure she's assuring herself the same about you. And are you?" Sorry but I dont understand this. what's she assuring?)
Camila dropped the bottle on the counter, not looking at him, "Sure. What about?" She bit her lip. -
(She's trying to assure herself that he's different than othef players.)
