Plot
Years beyond the Elric brothers' time, in a world where Amestris has been brought to peace, a new villain has come to light. Inspired by the terror previously set forth by Father and his homunculi, Lubin Poole- the "Clockwork Alchemist"- has gotten a hold of a philosopher's stone and brought the original homunculi back to life. Enraged by the meddling of the Elric brothers and grateful to Lubin, the popular foes have reunited once again to bring hell to Amestris... Literally.
The military under Roy Mustang's regime has been kept faithful and true. Even then, some have wavered sides and are choosing to follow Lubin in hopes of being spared by his sadistic destruction. It's hard to tell who is a friend or foe.
You're a State Alchemist who hasn't been in the works much long. You've heard about these dangerous foes, but you never dreamed you'd come face to face with one in your lifetime. The military needs you. Amestris needs you. Will you come to their aid?

Will be posting background knowledge and races on a separate post so you can create your characters even if you've never watched FMA (Fullmetal Alchemist) or FMA:B (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood). It will definitely be a bit of a read, but I promise, I'm keeping it short and sweet. Feel free to ask questions if you're confused or want any more info. -
Background Knowledge
This is Amestris. And this is Amestris compared to the neighboring countries. It is a very vast country, full of people who can use alchemy; a technique of understanding the structure of matter, decomposing it, and then reconstructing it. One can have immeasurable power with this knowledge. Those who hail from Xing may have their fair hand in alkahestry; a technique that uses the "dragon pulse," tying the user's sense of nature and chi into their power. Alkahestry is most commonly afflicted with healing rather than the decomposing or creating caused by normal alchemy.
Both alchemy and alkahestry require transmutation circles. (Some characters chose to engrave their circles into their skin. Some wear clothing to use theirs. Others simply draw transmutation circles into the ground. If a character has seen "the Truth", they can perform alchemy without a circle.)
The homunculi are man-made beings that embody the seven sins. Each homunculus has his or her own unique power that rivals that of the average human. Their core is a philosopher's stone, which is made of thousands to millions of human souls.
All state alchemists have their own power and title. For example, Roy Mustang is able to fabricate fire and is known as the "Flame Alchemist." Alchemy is based around the science of the earth (but this shouldn't limit your character! Feel free to use powers that wouldn't be considered canon).

Races
(These are what your character can be!)
Pure-blooded Amestrian
Pure-blooded Amestrians are Caucasian, blonde-haired, blue-eyed humans. Come from Amestris. They practice alchemy.
Amestrian
Amestrians that have other hair and eye colors that differ from the pure-blooded folk. Come from Amestris. They practice alchemy.
Ishvalan
Ishvalans are dark-skinned, white-haired, red-eyed humans. They believe in the god Ishval. Come from Amestris. Most do not believe in alchemy nor alkahestry, but those who chose to follow either are not uncommon.
Xing
Xing are asian-based folk that come from Xing. They practice alkahestry.
Chimera
A Chimera is a half-human, half-animal race that is brought about through scientific experiments and alchemy. Before the Promised Day, chimeras were seen as monsters and were often regarded as dangerous. Now, they are more frequently seen. Your character should have both a human form and an animal form. Chimeras are incapable of alchemy or alkahestry, but have their own form of abilities. (i.e. half lions have the traits of lions in their animal form; giant teeth, night vision, claws.) No homeland. -

Race: Ishvalan
Appearance: Long white hair that is half in a ponytail like this. Has blood red eyes. Dark brown skin that is the trait of all Ishvalans. He is fairly built.
Powers: Alchemy and alkahestry; Can use spilled blood as a weapon. Also understands how to use minor alkahestry and can heal simple wounds. Does not need transmutation circles for alchemy, but does have a pair of biker gloves with proper alkahestry transmutation circles.
Personality: Silent, thoughtful, leader-like. Does not seem to have a goal. -
